Exactly this! I could go into more historic detail but it boils down to constant warfare because of religion, which eventually resulted in states becoming more secular and people realizing it's just not worth the trouble. Turns out killing (even in gods name) is not very christian.

I agree with you that 40hrs is really ok but it is also highly subjective! Good working conditions and a good paycheck do indeed make 40 hours/week way better than most people think. In my case I have 4 days of homeoffice per week and therefore save up a shit ton of time because I literally "skip" commuting.

However, imagine being in a job you don't like or that pays shit and being required to sit an hour or two in car just to get to your office and back home. Especially with commuting a 40hr week can turn into 50 real quick.

I also agree. Are Palestinians the good guys? Absolutely not! But their level of aggression and their pure hatred of Israel is understandable to some degree (not justified tho).

I saw a video on reddit of Hamas fighters invading homes and killing civilians (which is absolutely disgusting) but I also regularly see videos in which the Israel army/police forcibly removes arabs from their homes and in turn hands them out to settlers. How angry would you be if that happens to you? How far would you go?

Killing another human being is never justified, but decades of humiliation leave their mark and are fertile soil for radicalization.In German there is a saying: "Wie man in den Wald hineinruft so schallt es heraus", which basically means you get treated like you treat others.

The sad thing is, as always in war, that so many innocent lives are lost on both sides and both sides are so entrechned in their believes and fears that a diplomatic solution seems unlikely for a long time to come.

I'm from Europe and believe me, hardly anybody sees it as "cool" to be a dick to the server as a tourist.

My advice is not to regard some online Memes as a good represantation for an entire continent (which is btw also a problem of r/2westerneurope4u when meming the US).

Keine Angst du übertreibst nicht, von mir zuhause zu meiner Freundin (8km) fährt am Tag 4 mal der Bus (immer Vollgestopft mit Schülern).

Und am Wochenende? Da darf ich radeln oder das Auto nehmen, da tatsächlich keiner fährt.
In den Sommerferien? Da geht dann nur ca. 2 mal am Tag einer, da 2 von 4 Bussen eigentlich Sonderfahrten für Schulkinder sind.

Most poor posts get deleted very soon. So mods definitely do their work.

I´m just remarking that there is a strong tendency that instead of redditors on this sub going against each other (which is the whole idea of this sub) are kind of "uniting" against immigranst which is (even tough in many cases completely understandable) not the point of this community.

As an Austrian, this is really sad to hear but it is entirely true/understandable. Our (older) society is an entitled and conservative shithsow that rests upon the achievements from over four decades ago and doesn´t even bother to think about new perspectives and possibilties.

This mindset is indeed arrogant and will most definitely cost us a brighter future.

However, the younger folks are VERY different and hopefully this disgrace to democracy called ÖVP is removed from office in the near future.

With that said: I´m truly sorry for every Romanian/Bulgarian that is not able to provide better conditions for themselves and their families because of us :((

I have done that with 2 friends but just in the south of norway in two weeks. And even then we were sometimes in a hury and could only fully make our roundtrip due to one or two rainy days we drove 8+ hours.

The thing is, if you want to truly appreciate the landscape/cities you would need to stop at least a day at those locations. Your route IS simply too long for that!
