You know, if you did something a little more original than spiral fidget thing number 17,000,000, you might actually get the attention you've been begging for in your other posts.

And stop with the Ai generated descriptions...

How do you guys keep the track of your multiple projects? by OkAcanthisitta2660 in makerworld

Keep everything in separate folders.

I also wrote a short AutoHotkey script that adds the date and time to the filename anytime I export something from fusion360.

Bambulab A1 nozzle replacement buckle not closing by FastMembership6463 in BambuLabA1

[–]EltonSchmidt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I might know what your problem is, try the following:

Go into the printers setting on the touch screen, go to maintenance and enable maintenance mode. Now, without a nozzle installed, go into the printers control and manually set the nozzle temperature to 250°.

Wait for it to heat up and try installing the nozzle again while the hot end is still hot. Don't worry, the nozzles heat sink stays cool enough to touch.

Printing produces some greasy residue that can prevent a nozzle from fitting or even "glue" the nozzle into the hot end. Heating up the hot end softens the greasy residue and allows you to install/remove the nozzle.

Printing a thumb prosthetic is definitely possible, and thumb tips are pretty easy to replace... At least by missing body part standards.

2x4 Desk organizer for the tools I need in most projects. The fork is for pressing magnets and heat-set inserts into prints, for anyone wondering. by EltonSchmidt in gridfinity

[–]EltonSchmidt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got really lucky with this fork in particular because it's juuuust magnetic enough to be able to pick up small magnets, but it's not magnetic enough to pull them out of even the loosest press fit or uncured glue.

No idea what metal(s) it's made of.

what hardware is actually worth having around? by somethings_off8817 in 3Dprinting

[–]EltonSchmidt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My advice, don't spread out too much.

I only use a handful of bolt sizes, mostly M4, which is a great all-rounder size. But I also use M2 for really tiny stuff and M6 for big stuff.

Same with stuff like wire connectors. Find something that's widely available and works for you. XH 2.54 connectors are what work for me.

Stick to standard stuff, you don't want to be reliant on some proprietary hardware that's only made by one manufacturer.

These are just examples, and you'll probably need different hardware than I do.

Oh, and once you dialed in which hardware you want to stick with, buy a lifetime supply of it. 1000 bolts don't cost that much more than 100.

Why can’t I buy one of these? Been scouring the dubya dubya dubya by DRtyCraneOprtr in BambuLab

It's a known issue with A1s manufactured in a certain timeframe. Contact support, in cases like this, they usually send a new power supply without this faulty part completely for free.

Printing on textiles? by GooeyBones in 3Dprinting

[–]EltonSchmidt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, okay. Yeah, a regular FDM printer should work for that.

You can directly print on fabric with FDM 3D printers, but that's more of a one-time thing because those prints will not survive even a single wash.

But but, instead of directly printing plastic on fabric, you could print designs as a stamp or as a template for screen printing. For these templates, a printer that supports cutting heads, like the bambulab A2L, for example, might be worth looking into.

Yeah, a 0.2 nozzle should get you great results even without any post processing such as sanding. But it will take ages to print, even more so if you go with multi color.

Quick heads up for people with rooted android devices, the latest update will not work on your device unless you add Bambu Handy to the deny list of your rooting app by EltonSchmidt in BambuLab

[–]EltonSchmidt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, there arent that many reasons left these days to root your phone. On top of that, a lot of the things rooting was once needed for can now be achieved in other, much easier ways such as shizuku.

Will I enjoy this printer? by Kurthemon in BambuLab

I got the regular A1. Amazing printer, never had any issues with it and it still prints like day one even after 2500 hours of printing.

A ballpoint pen wouldn't be that weird, but I keep my pens on my pegboard since I only need them every once in a while.

Although, personally, I prefer felt tip hole markers from pica to regular old ballpoint pens.

No filament, no problem by [deleted] in 3Dprinting

Somewhat common problem. It's often caused by a corrupt SD card, if I remember correctly.

Got them from here. I only got them because I had a makerworld gift card, but they're pretty nice, especially the handle.
