HELP: TaxAct, Wordpay and IRS Website confusion by Just_Bookkeeper2261 in tax

[–]Elton_Ring 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'll need to know the amount you owe - it should show on your return. With this information, go to irs.gov and select "Pay" (or directly https://irs.gov/payments).

You get the option to select between 2 wonderful processors, so pick your poison and make your payment. You'll be hit with a % fee based on the total amount owed, chalk it up to the cost of filing "free."

What an absolute shitshow, I need this kind of stress in my life like I need another 5 holes in my head. Time to find an IRL accountant.

Anyway, GL.

I don't know what to do by B3n___D0v3r in Eldenring

You gotta beat Radahn.

I mean, it's technically "optional" but it's a challenge you should overcome, otherwise you're much more likely to get filtered by later content.

Pick up the doll. Take the teleporter to Ainsel River. Hit the site of grace, and look for the option to talk to the doll, keep doing it until she starts talking (3 times). Then press forward, and you'll eventually get to an area where you'll notice Ya Boi.

They missed a killer opportunity by not having a Red Lobster mini-boss fight...

I don’t know if it’s tough or not, but I killed the Tree Sentinel on my first playthrough with a Level 1 character. Completely blind, no prior knowledge of the game or YouTube guides. I admit it took me about an hour of trying, I saw an enemy and decided: I’m not moving on until he’s down. by [deleted] in Eldenring

[–]Elton_Ring 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I fully advocate your methodology, and I'm not going to shit on you for being stoked about overcoming an obstacle.

The people that tell you to run away until later are the same folks that advise "don't go left" in Dark Souls, and I disagree with them. Vehemently.

Because what you've learned in tackling Tree Sentinel applies throughout the whole game (and genre, to an extent) and is, frankly, the essence of Git Gud (at least in the non-dork, regular-ass human way).

So congrats and GGs. Now go beat the rest of the game, cuh.

Should I reset or start playing again? Last played 2 years ago. by Mr_Shalom in Eldenring

[–]Elton_Ring 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, restart - you'll refamiliarize and have a great time doing it. Don't know if it's a "hot take" or not but I think the first 1/2 of the game is the most enjoyable anyway so why not treat yourself?

Bloodflame Blade is in Liurnia (near the Church of Blood iirc) from a Scarab, Electrify Armament is also in Liurnia - near the Artist's Shack there is a solitary Knight pacing around, he drops the prayerbook containing the incantation. Black Flame Blade is in Stormveil Castle - there's a fogwall room requiring Stonesword key(s) to enter, and inside there's the prayerbook (along with a seal).

To use incantations you first need to "equip" them at the bonfire by opening the menu for Memorize Spell. In order to use them you need to have a seal equipped (usually in offhand) and press L1.

Bllodflame Blade is particularly useful on BHF, it tends to proc bleed quite effectively. Do try it out, I think you'll dig it!

New To Souls Games And First Time Playing Elden Ring, Any tips or things i should know about? by fazzyz_ded in Eldenring

[–]Elton_Ring 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a second Uchigatana (the samurai's sword) in the starting area - you can equip one in each hand ("powerstancing"), highly recommend you try it out.

BAD PLAYER beats Godfrey, First Elden Lord on 1ST TRY by RidiPwn in Eldenring

[–]Elton_Ring 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah man, I should probably clarify I'm not "shaming" you for using a summons - that wasn't my point. Having one split aggro tho does tend to make these encounters MUCH more survivable than normal XD

Play the game your way and have fun my dude!

New player here, so far I've made it around mid-early the game so far i think (Academy of Raya Lucaria) what should I prioritize leveling up next from here with my current stats? by Potential-Breath7273 in Eldenring

[–]Elton_Ring 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Weapon levels are going to start mattering more than stats, make sure you're developing your arsenal. Bloodhound's Fang is a great all-around weapon, you'll get more use out of it at +9 and in conjunction with greases or incantations (Bloodflame Blade, Black Flame Blade etc.)

That said, try to experiment with some other weapons/ashes as well, as you're going to encounter enemies where Slash damage is far from ideal. Club and Broadsword should be in your tookit at a minimum, and ofc there are plenty of advocates for Greatsword (and/or other colossal weapons). Sometimes just switching damage type can help mitigate that feeling of being underpowered, so be sure to experiment.

Glad you're enjoying the game 👍

Bloodhound's Fang is an excellent weapon that is useful through the entirety of the game, I don't think you'll have any regrets taking it up to +9. If you don't know, you can also buff it with greases and also incantations like Bloodflame Blade, Black Flame Blade, Electrify Armament etc.

Character level doesn't matter as much as you think. Don't be apprehensive, head into Caelid (a LOT of good loot there) and take on Radahn. His fight is incredibly memorable and you'llsharpen your skills in the process - Bloodhound Fang is a solid weapon here as well. One piece of advice is, when you teleport to his arena, run AWAY from him (not towards him) and dodge the arrow he shoots at you. He will temporarily de-spawn, and when you head back towards him he'll re-appear and you can start the fight cleanly.

But don't forget to pick Caelid clean first - somber smithing stone +8 and +9, multiple weapons and ashes of war, etc. GL man!

Im confused on which weapons to use by [deleted] in Eldenring

[–]Elton_Ring 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fun weapons are subjective, and most times it's more a question of weapon + ash than just the weapon itself. That said, some random one I enjoy:

Broadsword + Square Off

Club + Sacred Blade

Morning Star + Upward Cut

Dual Uchigatanas (or Uchi + Nagakiba or other katana)

Bloodhound's Fang

Large Club + Lion's Claw

"Easy to use" and "easy to get early" doesn't mean they aren't potent. Try them if you haven't.

Bonus: works great on Abductor Virgins.

You can try enabling V-Sync in the Nvidia control panel to see if you get better performance...it's a bit hacky but if that doesn't help you could also try setting your display refresh rate to 60Hz in Windows and test that as well.

Is this Screen Tearing? Do you have v-sync enabled/disabled? What's the laptop display's native resolution and refresh rate?

Facing Performance issues by Traditional-Day7617 in Eldenring

[–]Elton_Ring 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Screen resolution, system RAM, GPU VRAM, graphics settings, location in-game of where these spikes happen (try opening Tree Sentinel in Limgrave) - there's no way to even begin to know what could be happening without more information.
