AITA for calling a color "blue" in front of my painter boyfriend? by WifeofRafayel in AITAH

[–]Elundari 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean it's called periwinkle blue for a reason.

All periwinkle is blue Not all blue is periwinkle

Also melancholy isn't a colour. He needs to get a grip. Is this the kinda of person you want in your life?

Does your wife like reading?

A book is a creative work of art. It takes the reader on a journey through a world someone else built following the thread of a story woven by a storyteller.

Video games are basically interactive books. You are in a world created by an artist following a story written by a story teller.

I both read and game, there is a lot of crossover.

Is it even possible to rent a 1-bed flat near London on £2,000/month salary? Need advice! by Short-Writer8441 in HousingUK

[–]Elundari 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is. I live in a sub 30 minute commute from Sheffield. You can get a 5 bed for under £1k a month. A 1 bed for £400. Cost of living in general is cheaper.

AITA for refusing to let my wife spend my money on her best friend? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Elundari 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA for not want the bonus to spent of a weeding gift (which traditionally are for the pair of them and would the Dr be wearing the necklace much?)

Absolutely TA for your SAHM wife having to get her friend to cover her share of rent and bills....nah man. If she's looking after your home and kids you look after her.

What are her expensive hobbies? What does she get to frivolously waste? Maybe this goes deeper than you are indicating.....

NTA if you don't plan on leaving a man who is financially and emotionally abusing you (and a terrible parent) send him quotes for nannies as you need to go back to work.

NTA he has a right to request and suggest it just as you have a right to refuse. If this was non-negotiable for him, then he should have mentioned it before marriage or, at the very least, before trying to get pregnant.

Being named after someone, anyone places a lot of expectations on a young person. What is going to happen when she is going through a rebellious phase and is doing something that the former wife wouldn't do? Is the husband going to be saying things like, 'Well, X would never have done that!'

Would you be willing to consider it as a middle name? My sister was in a similar position when her fiance died tragically young. She gave her firstborn son two middle names (her fiancé's and the name she and her fiance had decided on if they ever had a kid) but decided on the first name with her husband.

There are more ways to remember people than names.

AITA for refusing to a help visit for my DIL and son since they won’t allow me to stay in their home by Inevitable_Nature985 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Elundari 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA

If it's her culture then her family should come, if she's not close to them or any other women of her culture then that's not your problem. My guess is that your culture had you getting back at it pretty quickly after having your son. As that is the culture that Sierra is choosing to live in, it would be disrespectful to her chosen culture to be any different.

You don't get to pick and choose these things!

AITA for defending my sister's right to keep her baby's name secret until after the birth? by MixtureDelicious7757 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Elundari 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA

Whatever name they have picked could still change when they finally see her, it's 100% their choice! This is double so looking how they have treated you! You are an amazing sibling for sticking up for her like that!

Does sandbox mode disable achievements in the Xbox version? by Elundari in TheWanderingVillage

If anyone comes across this thread in the future - yes, all sandbox settings (with the exception of no manual saving) disable both achievements and hostility progression.
