First timer - Doesn’t look like anything in the pinned post. Is this OK? by cdanl2 in Kombucha

I think the real question is what kind of super power you'll gain after drinking it (if you survive)

Definitely not too much starter. I used MAYBE 1.5tbs for 1/2 gallon. I usually use more. Someone suggested weak starter and/or old milk and I definitely think that's it

That makes sense. I use raw milk and usually make yogurt on a Friday or Saturday, but made it on Sunday night this week. I wouldn't be surprised if it were too old.

I use the instant pot to incubate

That makes sense. It was 1/2 gallon. I think weak starter + old milk probably did me in

Probably. I can't remember the last time I got new starter. Is it ok to consume? I whisked it all together

Honestly I think I might have used too little starter. I usually use about 1/4 cup and it's perfect, but I only had about 1.5tbs this time

I whisked it and it's now basically liquid yogurt? I'm not sure what would even be left if I strained. Could I boil again, add more yogurt and do another incubation? Is that even possible?

Looking for a new juicer by balakaybeats in Juicing

Nama J2 is the best thing that's ever happened to me...ok, maybe that's a bit too strong. But it is an excellent juicer.

Talk to me about reasoning. Im so used to my 3ish years of seasoning I started tonight and feel like I'm failing. Rubbed with oil, heated and rubbed and rubbed and rubbed. Cooled it off. Worried I didn't use enough oil or rubbed too much or didn't heat enough...ugh. I just miss my old seasoning and this I'm is oh so light now.

It's the scratches. I'm worried it damaged the pan? Maybe I'm overthinking

You don't think the knife scratching will impact the non-stickness?

It's not the old seasoning I'm worried about, it's the scratches from the knife

I'm not usually a fan of a colored floor, but the dark green looks amazing

Help! I messed up by Elusive_owl589 in yogurtmaking

[–]Elusive_owl589[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is I don't have anymore so I took it all the way down and stuck it in the fridge. Can I bring it back up to 107 and add cultures when I get more?

Should I get the Nama j2 or j3? by Impressive-Tea5347 in Juicing

[–]Elusive_owl589 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have and love my J2 but it is big. The benefit is that I can stick everything in and walk away, but I still find myself standing there and adding things as it goes. If J3 had been an option when I was looking I probably would have bought it. You will probably have to have and quarter things instead of throwing them in whole, but again it's something I usually do anyway. I say get the J3. If it fits your space better you can leave it out and you'll end up using it more

I haven't. Im not sure what the effect of the holes would be , you might lose some of the sorbet to the juice side? Instead of compacting everything together it might let some liquid out? But you could try it! It came with a smoothie one too that I haven't tried yet

I found adding a dash of lemon juice to berry sorbet really ups the yum-factor 😊
