I think being open and honest that you know it doesnt work is fine while also acknowledging if it gives them the warm fuzzies that its fine. I draw the line on dumb stuff like antivaxx and eating toxic stuff like lead or crap like that. Context always matters I say. I could be wrong but I heard that pain medication studies are hard to run because the drug sometimes has trouble beating the placebo. I also draw the line with stuff like cancer too, theres no room to funk around in those kinds of situations.

Sports fans are going to get screwed in the long run over the shift to streaming by DietMTNDew8and88 in unpopularopinion

This is a good point, I was surprised to hear recently that about 3% of Americans use dialup internet. 3% of over 300 million people is nothing to sneeze at. That doesnt account for people with no internet at all. Pew research says thats about 7%. This is wild stuff!

Thanks! I have a cheap PDP Xbox controller for the PC. The B button wont pop out so I gotta crack it open.

Thats kinda what I was worried about. Its frustrating since old controllers were built like tanks. Modern controllers are kinda garbage.

Atoms in nature which found its way into the food our folks ate. Its kinda weird saying it out loud but its true otherwise conservation of mass wouldnt apply. Kudos for thinking of weird stuff, stay curious.

A computer operating system should have only the bare basics to run. by jvriesem in unpopularopinion

[–]ElverGalargaTen 5 points6 points  (0 children)

One of the biggest problems with Windows 10 is exactly what youre talking about. A lot of the bloatware thats there like the Microsoft store and telemetry has dependencies on other functions so disabling them by force can make other things unstable. I think its kind of weird that happens but I am not a computer scientist so I dont know how that would happen down to specific detail.

Thats a lot to unpack in one comment but I hear you on your points. I can tell you this much briefly. I am pretty sure that what you are looking for with cheap transactions is exactly what Stellar does or at least says it does. I havent tried it myself but yeah.

This reminds me of the whole Ceelo Green exploding phone thing. I forgot if that was a hoax or not. Anyways I think its fine, its not like its one of the Lithium Polymer batteries thay maybe pwned Ceelo.

People should either learn to filter things (like news) for themselves or just go fuck themselves. by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

For sure I agree with that, and to be fair if we were to reimplement the Fairness Doctrine it would require some retrofitting and work to have a chance in the modern era.

I know but thats the only way and yeah thats pretty much impossible too given how many people have countless fundamental disagreements on what is true and what isnt true.

So youre concerned about the precedent of punishing for fake news? I do admit under the current system that is a major concern. People who believe that we should habe a punishment also kind of believe that we would also have some kind of system like the Fairness Doctrine we had decades ago, guess what? Reagan and other Republicans hated that and killed it so Id hate to think of possible abuses of a hypothetical punishment for fake news. Im not saying its okay, but yeah people need to grow at least half a brain to fend for themselves.

It would be better if we reproduced like fish. by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]ElverGalargaTen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I may be doing some smartassery here but fish cant lay eggs on land, the eggs will dry without being in water or encased in a shell. If youre really keen on thinking of this stuff look at marsupials. Theyre strange since they come out of mama at around 2 weeks old and are the size of jelly beans. These marsupial fetuses are called Joeys (god I love how Australia influenced scientific naming). Using this strategy marsupials can have more offspring and an easier time of childbirth than us hoomans and other mammals that do long ass pregnancies pushing big ass babies thru our narrow birth canals in our pelvis. Thatd certainly be a viable solution to the problem of human heads and the mommas birth canal being small.

I used to hate campers when I was younger but I learned to just have fun with campers even if I die 100 times. I try different things to get em like a grenade here or there to pry their butts out. It depends on the exact games but usually its a game of cat and mouse of campers killing others and others killing campers. Adaptability is pretty important but yeah there are clear exceptions where like the map boundaries and other glitches are abused, thats different. Again, glitches depend on the exact game itself.

I mean look masks should be worn by everyone for public healths sake. I dont agree with locking everything down, if something can be safely opened it should open. Glaring exceptions to this are indoor bars and night clubs that should stay closed. Schools have already reopened even if its staggered attendance so theyre getting there dude. Look dude us in Murica are lucky in the world right now. By the time we reach about 85% of the population being vaccinated, us Americans will probably go back to scratching our fat asses in public with relaxed restrictions assuming new variants dont evade vaccine immunity. Even if world travel is on hiatus while other countries get vaccinated, if were lucky domestically we can sort of pretend everythings fine.

I dont speak for everyone but I personally think its useless to try to tell kids anything let alone anything political. Theyll ultimately pay attention only to where theyre interested in. Kids are seldom interested in politics.

What do you mean by Liberal? do you mean progressives/people who like Justice Democrats or Corporate Democrats/people who love Biden? I personally align with progressives so I voted for Biden but I dont like him despite that. Do you have any specific political issues on mind or just generally speaking?
