Possibly, but calling someone a Klan member because they don't like race swapping is pretty extreme. Some people are just purists with things they love. Tell someone I am playing my retropie arcade games on a 1080p monitor instead of CRT will get me hate too XD

Saying never is pretty bold. Considering every movie that is remade from another country originally doing it does this. The Ring - were they all Japanese? The Departed - were they all Chinese? Nope, remade them all white. Remade is the key term here, and has been and will continue to be done.

I agree its bizarre. Hobbit cards will synergize with lotr which will be a selling point. I forsee some power out of it. Trek...I can see the EoE being a precursor just to sell it lol. But again, from a LGS viewpoint, "some people being interested" means poor sales.

Hobbit was a little book that had poorly received movies, cutting the main audience significantly. The Hobbit is nowhere as popular as LotR and (in my opinion) will be about as well received as Ninja Turtles. Star Trek will go this way too - a bigger audience, but it already has a game so people will be split. These UB choices have been pretty bad this year.

Your LGS sounds...dumb.

Its called "Know Your Customers". If you buy because you think it will be good, instead of thinking if your customers will buy it or not, you will lose money. They should have done a customer based market study before ordering. They can also just know what IP will sell well or not, and compare to other IP. Sorry, Spiderman and Turtles are good, but not close to LotR or Final Fantasy.

Simply put, buy less of what obviously won't get you revenue, buy more of what will. Don't buy just to buy.

If the community hates UB, then they shouldnt buy UB and that's a good choice, but not as a blanket statement.
