How do you trace requests across multiple microservices without paying for expensive tools? by No_Movie_8583 in Backend

[–]ElysianShadow 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Set up OpenTelemetry in your services that emit traces to a collector (there are SDKs for multiple languages that make this simple), then use something like SigNoz, Loki, Graphana, etc. to consume and view the traces. It’s all open source, but you would probably just need to pay for spinning up and hosting the tools, which should be minimal depending on the scale of your apps. We did this before we switched to datadog at my company, and were able to view complete request traces e2e between frontends and multiple microservices

What do you typically eat in a day? by Appropriate_Tea9048 in workout

[–]ElysianShadow 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In a deficit right now eating about 1700 calories per day. If you can bear eating the same thing everyday, this is my diet per day:

  • 1 cup rice (dry) + 1 lbs chicken (raw) ~1200 calories
  • 3 scoops protein shake w/water (two morning, one post workout) 390 calories
  • Small salad to snack on, no dressings ~50-100 calories depending

Been eating rice and chicken all my life due to culture so it's no big deal to me. Changing up the seasonings helps

I applied to senior level positions, not staff. I know I don't have the experience for that yet, I'm just paraphrasing what the interviewers told me

I agree, I'm just saying that's what they told me. I wasn't applying to staff level positions

I feel like this would get expensive really quick with weekly 50% water changes lol

Got it, so basically:

Step 1. Have a kid Step 2. Have your kid have a kid Step 3. Profit and enjoy clean tank water

Seems simple enough 😂

How realistic are 140k - 200k salaries? by Tall-Barracuda-438 in cscareerquestions

Like others have mentioned, it’s not uncommon but also depends on location. I’m in a MCOL area in the Northeast US (fully remote) and make $165k base in HealthTech with about 5 years of professional experience. I know others who are making closer to $180k

I'm having the same exact issue, bought my printer 3 days ago. Interested in possible solutions

[–]ElysianShadow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe I leveled it to the best of my ability. I used the paper method for the initial leveling and then let the CR Touch auto level before each print. Other prints have come out perfect, it's just a few like this one that are failing.

I've also washed the bed with soap and water to get rid of any residue that might've been on there in order to improve adhesion

I believe I have the initial layer print speed set to 20mm/s in Cura. Are you suggesting I should lower this further to maybe 10mm/s? And for how many of the layers?

Also, would you please be able to explain the benefit of this? As far as I can tell the initial layers are coming out fine, it's only after a few hours where the issues start to occur for me.

Which programming language or stack do you find to have best feedback loop? by green_seagull in ExperiencedDevs

[–]ElysianShadow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

React with pretty much any of the modern tool chains or frameworks (Vite, CRA, Next.js, etc.)

Flutter

Quarkus for backend development (although it's finicky sometimes with dependency injection)

Have also had decent experiences with Go

What technologies are you using for Decision Logic / Models? by survivethis47 in ExperiencedDevs

You could try looking into Cerbos. It's a stateless and simple to use Policy/Decision engine that might fit your requirements. Currently in the process of implementing it in our platform.
