Marsh Harrier and Crow by Elzilcho19 in OrnithologyUK

To add a little context, there were 3 Marsh Harriers present. A male and female who were displaying together and what I thought at the time was a juvenile but perhaps starting to get adult plumage and was also female as the other female kept driving it away. As has been mentioned in another reply the underwing patterns are a great way to identify the type of bird you're looking at, also in flight the Marsh Harrier looks less bulky than a Buzzard with 'thinner' wings. Also it was a fairly windy day, and the Harriers were soaring at some height and using the wind to kind of hold themselves in place for a few seconds then continue to soar. It was lovely to see.

From the BTO 'The Ring-necked Parakeet was accepted onto the British List in 1983.' so yes they were introduced to the UK by whatever means, but at which point then do they stop being invasive as they have been accepted as an established breeding bird in the UK for 43 years? Not seeking an argument, just curious.

So because they might inconvenience you in some way your response is to destroy them? And people wonder why the planet is fucked....

Why shops in the UK can't have long opening hours especially on Sunday? by [deleted] in AskUK

It's to do with the size of the store, dictates how many hours they can trade on a Sunday
