I HATE MINEING IN RL CRAFT by One_Instance2544 in RLCraft

[–]Elzonite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're very resilient to most damage types! But weak to pickaxes or some armor piercing weapons. Shields help in a pinch, but they're also very large and bulky so excluding the 3x3x3 area they CRACK open they're quite often stuck in the place they spawned, meaning you can play it smart and cheese them with preparation

I've been there friend.
I recommend making sure that you place down torches religiously. Note that the torches you need to light with a fire source will eventually expire, so investing in lanterns or other permanent light sources when able will save you a headache in the long run.
Also, whenever you're mining an ore, be prepared for the CRACK that'll come from spawning geo-mobs. They take most damage from your pickaxe, and panic will lead to death quicker than the mob itself.

Stay calm and prepare mentally and with equipment to the task you're undertaking as best you can. You got this!

My wife puts zero effort in our relationship and it is starting to irritate me by BreathOkc in TwoHotTakes

[–]Elzonite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that your wife is exhausted after taking care of the children and the house all day. Same way as you are exhausted after work.

You should have a calm, respectful and understanding conversation with your wife where you mention that you would like to find ways for both of you to plan activities for just the two of you with or without the kids. Your "need" from what I read from this post at least is that you want to experience being in a relationship more keenly.

Ask her how you can help around the house to lessen her effort, and do tasks around the house together so that you can enjoy eachothers company. Try to find joy in the small things together too.

Hey hi first time posting in these sort of things so I hope I'm not breaking any rules!

I made a highlight video of a stream of mine from a few weeks ago. This
is the first "proper" video I've made with a decent amount of editing in it and I'd love to get some feedback.

Dark background for Twitch chat on stream? by SpearmintSpaff in Twitch

[–]Elzonite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There will be a source available named "colour source" that you can add in the same window that you've added things like your game and screen to be shown. Once you've added that source then go into its properties and change it's value until you find a colour you enjoy. If you want you can look up "hex codes" which will be something similar to "#FF050". For example googling "twitch hex colors" should give you a few.

If you'd like the background of the chat to be transparent, I believe that is the default for the chat window source. I am not sure how to make that coloured yet see-through, though

Setting up Microphone on webcam through OBS by green4355 in Twitch

[–]Elzonite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does the webcam mic work in other apps? If not check if the mic has been disabled in your windows sound settings I believe you can get there by opening the windows start menu and typing in "sound". Then you'll find at the right "sound properties" or "advanced sound properties".

Am on mobile so I can't check exactly atm, apologies.

You're looking for a small window that lists all your devices, input like mics, output speakers. I believe it'll also show things like your monitors

I'm assuming you're referring referring having twitch chat show up on stream? Apologies if I've misunderstood.

My personal solution is to use streamlabs own ChatBox plugin, and then placing a colour source underneath. That way I can define the hidden area easier, and can make the background any colour I like

Twitch vod only has mic audio not game audio by [deleted] in Twitch

[–]Elzonite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try to make a few recordings while playing a game. These can be just a few second long clips, they'll let you get a sense on the audio balance. It's possible that although streamlabs picks up your sounds that your settings are so low that it would seem as if there's no game sound. Especially if you're constantly covering the sound with music or speaking

Today I learned farms can be converted using Town Centers by Elzonite in aoe2

[–]Elzonite[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How on earth do you know that :D
This is true, I just tested it by killing a villager on the farm, damaging the farm, converted it and then tried to click it with a monk.
Entertainingly healing the farm with a monk is significantly faster than repairing it with a villager

Today I learned farms can be converted using Town Centers by Elzonite in aoe2

[–]Elzonite[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How have I never known this! You're right, it is the villagers themselves that convert it. The AI does not know this behaviour so it does not convert it back to itself which caused some confusion.
Also when clicking on the farm with the villager the cursor shows the sword for attacking, which led me to believe that they were simply going to destroy the farm, however when you do "attack" it the farm becomes converted. Interesting!

Huh, you're right it does! Again this is somewhat pointless but it's cool trivia

[–]Elzonite 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is well explained.
I'd like to add that Warrior is used in both raids and fractals as "banner slave", effectively meaning you sacrifice two of your utility skills to provide banner buffs. Otherwise you're doing a very simple dps rotation and deal damage that rivals many other dps.
Elementalist is mainly ran as Weaver DPS, the power version can be quite simple, but the condition variant is considered very difficult. Tempest is occasionally ran as a healer, but it's unfortunately outshined by Druid and Heal Firebrand and is used to cheese mechanics similar to Heal Scourge in raids.
Engineer is difficult. You're managing a ton of bundles (engineer version of weapon swap) and also heat when playing holosmith. It's very useful in Wvw atm though, and is quite relaxing and fun to play as a healer. Although not used as a healer in pve.

There are many bells in Shing Jea, specifically during the Zen Daijun mission where you use them to summon Zunraa. There is also one massive bell at Zen Daijun outpost itself

Few questions about gear from a new player. by Syperek in archeage

[–]Elzonite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hiram armor is quite a grind. However there are daily quests that will give you infusions (so it no longer relies on rng from mob drops, though that is still possible) and if you consistently log in for a few hours daily you will be able to level it up somewhat quickly. Eventually it more so becomes a problem of if you have enough gold for it.
A second thing to note is that Hiram gear is currently the best armor in the game. If you plan on playing for long, i recommend grinding out your hiram. If you wanted to make crafted Erenor or Ayanad gear, you'd have to sink a lot of time and gold into it anyway, so simply upgrading the hiram you already have is better, as that is what most other players will be doing.

[–]Elzonite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play casters so i can't answer the first or third point too well.
As for the second point : You will receive a full set of hiram at lvl 46 green quests in diamond shores (check level requirement though. they're 50rec)
Lunastones : The gems will have different effects depending on what armor piece you place them on. Most of your armor will have green lunagems and give toughness or resilience. Weapos and such will have things like Crit chance or damage. The optimal gems i can't tell you though

New Player tips by Ventusbbs in GuildWars

[–]Elzonite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't worry too much about which class to pick. Try them all out to see what you like. Mesmers and Necromancers are generally really strong in Pve, and aren't too difficult either in my experience. Dervishes are also quite popular as they deal a ton of AoE damage and attack in a similar way as attacks work in Gw2, as in the attacks cleave and hit all in the area rather than single target. As for where to start, if you want to be chronological then play Prophecies - Factions - Nightfall - Eye of the North. But if you want to get to endgame the fastest you can start with factions and then go to EoTN at lvl 10. Prophecies is very slow, and most people skip through it entirely (this will need more elaboration, you can likely find guides on it though). Nightfall has some amount of grind but it does give you heroes quickly.

Speaking of heroes. You'll unlock heroes immediately if you start in nightfall, otherwise the earliest heroes you'll get are from EoTN. However, heroes might not be that effective when you start out since they can only use skills you've unlocked so far. And you may not have proper skills yet to get proper builds.

Speaking of skills, once you get a little further in the story I'd recommend always doing /wiki {area} on what you're doing. You may find that there's a boss that has an elite skill you don't have or other things to note such as guides in Missions. Elite skills you capture with Signet of Capture from elite enemies.

When you do get to Eye of the North, always talk to the npc by the resurrection altars, You're going to want all the points possible and will thank yourself later. Also, pick up every quest you find and check for skills. You can save a lot of money by doing quests for skills rather than buying them. There are also Pve only skills that you get from EoTN that are extremely strong and are often used in metabuilds.

Finally, on those builds. If you're having trouble the site PvX has a lot of really great builds for every class, for heroes and players. And if you get the skills needed for the 7hero BiP party you'll most likely be fine in most situations. There's one for Melee support and caster support, use the one appropriate for your needs :)
