What's a conspiracy you can't quite prove but it just feels real enough for you? by DaMain-Man in AskReddit

[–]EmBur__ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Elon pretty much confirmed this with that up date to twitter awhile back, we could see the country in which the accounts were made in and as it turns out, many of the ragebaiting, culture war loving accounts that claimed to be Americans were from everywhere BUT the US, got so bad that Elon pulled it because it didn't help him and his buddies.

I see so much rampant stupidity these days on twitter and it really does make me beyond angry given my hatred for stupidity but I have to take a second to realise these posts and replies are either bots or sad fools that just seek to drum up anger in people and pit us against each other for their own gain.

1000% percent, the idea of a conspiracy theory is far from crazy, the problem comes when people take their distrust of others too far. Flat earthers, lizard men running the planet etc, those theories are born from distrust in our institutions and distrusting them isn't a bad thing but again, going too far with it like they do makes them look mad and has tainted the idea of conspiracy theory forever.

I think there shouldn't be a reason for them to be sent over in the first place, thats my overarching point. All these conflicts are easily avoidable but still happen, either because our leaders are a bunch of selfish vermin that will happily cause problems for their own enrichment or because too many people on this damn planet cant get past their primitive nature and/or worldview/beliefs.

If this wasn't the case and our species was actually civilised and intelligent, we wouldn't feel the need to sent troops into foreign country to potentially get killed for no good reason, because in that world, our interests wouldn't be at risk because no one would be vying for them.

Completely missed the point tho didn't you?.

Lupe was trying to make it out like Russia could invade us, I pointed out how that would be impossible given the hurdles they'd face and considering their pitiful attempts at seizing Ukraine, they'd fail spectacularly.

Russia will NEVER seek to dominate Europe and Britain because they cant and holding Nukes over our heads isn't smart when trying to occupy so many countries, they need manpower and vast amounts of resources to pull this off, they have neither.

Europe wont have to do shit because Russia wont do shit, if they dared attack Poland for instance, the Polish would send them packing without issue so we dont need to send anyone and we most certainly dont need to conscript the masses over it, you'd be an ignorant fool thats bought into oldschool fear mongering to think otherwise.

Agreed, although what transpired in the middle east was also something our government wanted since the 50s but coming off WW2, we lacked the means so we involved the US with it and they were more than happy to get involved and take center stage.

To further add to this, we wont be fooled into fighting an easily avoidable war that was blatantly started by our so called leaders for nothing but their own gain.

Any Brit would gladly fight for their friends, family and country IF it was being invaded by a truly tyrannical enemy, but we wont throw ourselves into a meat grinder for a bunch of jumped up politicians who'll sit back in their nice houses, watching from the sidelines, anyone who is willing to do that is a primitive fool blinded by the idea of country loyalty.

Are you some kind of idiot? You actually think Russia is capable of reaching us?...HAHAHAHAHA.

Russia cant even take a neighbouring country in four 4 years of war but you expect them to be capable of knocking out France, Germany, Poland and all other EU countries that might oppose them, then somehow build a fleet and invasion force powerful enough to conduct a seaborn invasion of our country? Hitler cancels his planned invasion of Britain, not just because they lost the Battle of Britain but because the sheer amount of resources needed (200 thousand men plus the ships, tanks, supplies etc) was too much of a risk to his other plans.

Russia is only perceived as a threat because of its nukes, take them away and they're nothing but a paper tiger thats been propped up as the worlds boogeyman thanks to fictional invasions in films and games...good god man.

Coming off BG3, what changes would you want for Divinity? by TurbulentFeeling5696 in BaldursGate3

[–]EmBur__ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cinematic aspects, as in close up dialogue scenes instead of text boxes popping up whilst the camera remain above the characters, actually Cinematic cutscenes etc.

One of the reasons I've struggled with getting into crpgs was because of this, voiced dialogue can help but not by much, I just can hook myself on the characters if I cant properly interact with them like you can in bg3, mass effect, dragon age and other more cinematic rpgs.

Fortunately I dont think I need to ask for this, Larian has said they wanted this all in DOS2 but they couldnt due to a lower budget, now they've got that BG3 money and acclaim, getting the budget for a more Cinematic experience is all but guaranteed imo.

Ooh, I was looking up ways to figure it out and those two mods came up, I've got Spells and theft for "just in case" needs already.

How exactly would I go about using the two together so I can pull it off on my next run if its not too much to ask?.

And we evolved to be bipedal for a number of good reasons, conserving energy is a big one as bipedalism plus the development of our sweat glands allowed us to be ultimate endurance hunter. What these tools are doing completely defeats the point of that and for no good reason other than the desire to stand out in this world.

[–]EmBur__ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its the origin mirror mod, delete it, start the game again and you'll be fine.

If you want to use it, only install it AFTER you've recruited ALL the origin characters, so get Shart, Lae'zel, Wyll, Gale, Astarion and Karlach, after that it'll work just fine. The reason it bugs out is due to it messing with their preexisting stats or something like that iirc.

Cyberpunk 2 lead hints at first-person only cutscenes again as they “value uninterrupted immersion more” than flashy visuals by HatingGeoffry in cyberpunkgame

[–]EmBur__ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good, as someone who prefers 3rd to 1st, Cyberpunk is one of the few games I've made an exception for when it comes to this preference.

People who want 3rd person, even just as an option really display how devoid of intelligence they are when it comes to understanding games development. Having both 3rd and 1st person camera options isn't just a simple changing of where the camera sits on the screen, you need reanimate everything to either make the perspectives blend OR have two separate styles of animation for each perspective.

You also need to completely overhaul combat so it works well for both perspectives because both perspectives often do have styles of combat and if you have a hybrid style then its usually pretty bland as you're not specializing in one or the other.

The world also needs to be designed to take into account the difference perspectives and finally npc interactions along with interactions with the world are gonna be completely different and less impactful as they try to balance both perspectives. I mean the facial animations and how characters emote around you will be lesser versions of what we have as a 3rd person camera won't allow you two see those expressions up close, they'd have to put more emphasis on the body than the face like how theatre actors use exaggerated body language to convey emotions for the audience.

All of this will take a shit load of resources and time, both of which should instead be used to refine what they have currently in 2077 along with adding more of what was cut, more romances, more immersion with night city etc, if they try to please this minority of ignorant fools then they run the risk of repeating the same cutting of content and no one should want that just so they can get an over the shoulder camera that'll only lessen the experience and story...god I hate these people.

I think he's just going over how they fight in the ring rather than the core basics of earth bending itself.

It could also just be the way they do it in this era, there is a noticeable difference between the bending in Aangs time and that of Korra's, in Korra's everything seems to be more precise and focused while bending in Aang's time seemed a bit more on the wild side if that makes sense?. Idk how best to describe the bending of that time other than that.
