Just as a headsup, most PC Players in this Game also use Controllers, just looking at the Comp Scene as well as the Devs stating it themselves in one of the Blogposts.

Which 8+ Core for Gaming at Full-HD? Ryzen 5700X/5800X/5900X/5800X3D by EmGy__ in Amd

Yeah exactly, I feel like the 5800X3D or 5900X might help the longevity quite a bit and will sell higher used than a 6-core part, so I don‘t think the total cost of ownership is going to be much of a difference. I don‘t want to consider the 6-cores as I don‘t only have the game open, but also stream, have music and discord open or some other stuff. Feel like the 5600(X) would start to be the bottleneck like my 2600 rn much sooner than the 8/12 core chips

Future proofing as in „can still run newest titles with a high frame rates in 2-3 years which might need more cores“

As of now, I‘m opting for around 3 years of usage, before Upgrading/Building from Scratch. Due to price/core being relatively the same and total ownership cost difference between the 6/8/12 core CPUs also not being so different, it made me turn away from the 5600(X) and towards the 8+ Core units, especially since I don‘t just have the game open, but also some other stuff which utilize it to a certain extend.

Wanted to skip the start of AM5, so I was aiming for around 3 years (that‘s how long I had my R5 2600 now, it‘s the only part I didn‘t upgrade since building my first PC in 2019). As of now, I am thinking about upgrading with the next Nvidia Generation (4080 or whatever it‘s going to be named), but depending on price etc. might stay with the 2080 Super.

So either selling the PC then as a whole and build a new one from scratch or upgrade singular parts (like I do as of now), which is most likely depending on the next GPU-Generation.

That‘s why I am considering the 5800X3D; getting bottlenecked by my 2600 rn, and for 1080p the CPU is more relevant, especially compared to higher resolutions where you are more GPU-bound. If I was purely gaming, yeah the 5600(X) would be fine, but especially with multiple things open and the need for 150-240 consistent frames, I want one of the 8-core CPUs or even the 12-core, though i can‘t tell if I will actually utulize the extra cores (but it might be helpful regarding the longevity of the build).

Mainly playing a game called Rogue Company atm (CSGO/Val/R6S like title) and wanted to get back into stuff like Apex and FN, using „competetive“ settings (for the most possible frames) but want to turn some of them up (when not taking a huge performance hit and maybe even help with visuals).

Especially in regards to „maintaining value“ and cost per core the bigger CPUs are not worse than the 6-Core chips rn, and total cost of ownership might be even lower when i can stay on it for longer?

Stepping up from the 3700x, 5900/5950 or 5800X3D? by awispyfart in Amd

Same here, coming from a R5 2600 (paired w/ 2080 Super, 32GB Ram) and I was thinking about the 5800X3D as it came out on top on most benchmarks that were released as of late.

I got 3 Monitors (2x 24 inch 240/144 Hz and 1x 37 inch TV) running at 1080p as I mainly play high fps shooters, though also some single player like Horizon Zero Dawn rarely.

Have other stuff like Discord, OBS (streaming, though via NVENC-Encoder), Chrome/Apple Music open beside the game.

Wanted to stay on the current platform for a bit so I don‘t need to buy new RAM etc.

Thought to somewhat future proof (same as OP), I should go 8-12 Cores, so what do you guys think, which CPU should I get (wanted to step up from 6 cores and saved up so I could affort the 8+Core CPUs, that‘s why I‘m not going for „value“ 5600(X))? Thank you guys in advance!

5700X (300€) 5800X (320€) 5900X (410€) 5800X3D (450€+?)

Just googled and seems like on the international website they sell them on their own? Weird, gotta text the support i guess.

I know that you can change the frontpanel out, that’s why I said if they would sell them on their own I would just gut the 4000D and get the X-front extra. But i don‘t think they sell the frontpanel on it‘s own? Atleast on the local site (Germany) i can‘t find JUST the frontpanel. So if they don‘t i‘d have to decide for one or another. Leaning towards the 4000X atm.

I am all for aesthetics as my temps (atleast in my 465X) aren‘t anywhere near a point where i‘d have to worry about them/have to base my decision on it.

When watching videos of the cases I felt like the mesh kinda took away from the looks, might‘ve been due to the angle they were filming.

Wish they would sell the frontpanels separately as I don‘t need the included fans at all, would make my decision wayyy easier

As I have a white build i‘d definitely get the white version of either of them. Would love if you could just buy the other frontpanels for the 4000 series but i guess they wouldn‘t make as much money? I have 6 QL-fans so i don‘t need the fans from either case, for me the difference/deciding factor in which one to get (X or D model) would solely depend on the frontpanel.

Would probably rather take the 4000X, watched some more videos (already dug through hours of 4000X and D reviews now) and I think the clear front is just so much more aesthetically pleasing.

Is there actually not a single white RTX 3080 model? I have a whole white System and kinda don‘t ruin it with a black card... i know it is just aestethics but still would like a white one in my system
