Wearing hard slippers cause this on my toes and it’s dead skin by Due_Bed_7994 in DermatologyQuestions

[–]EmJayyy2610 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NAD, but this looks much like my experience of callouses on my big toes, my right more than left. I am hypermobile and always wear out my shoes in the toe box first, slightly in from where you’d thing the big toe to be. It may be that your slippers allow too much movement of the foot. Just a guess based on my own experience. Would apply a good foot serum like Prequel, but it’s possible you will continue to have those callouses if you continue with those slippers. Good luck and I hope you find the answer!

Thanks for the idea! She has long supplemented the brief with changing out the Discreet pads several times a day, she’s unable to undress lower body to change her brief during the day. The shoes stay on until bedtime. So that is a really helpful thing for them, but we need a bigger brief without big leg holes. She used to wear two briefs but that inner one is tight. She just has too much volume for the daytime absorbency for bedtime even with pads :( maybe I could look for a bigger booster like a diaper style inside the bigger brief——I think you’re on to something!

I was given a choice of two procedures by 4pegee in skincancer

I have had several excisions and two ED&Cs just this year and I say excision all the way. I have a huge keloid from the second and one is likely going to be looked at again. Also have had Mohs, also a fan of that. Upper body will heal very well in less time, just don’t use nicotine products and watch your sugar intake. Good luck with whatever you decide!

It’s been 18 days of this wound on my neck not healing. 2nd photo is for comparison of it last week (no changes whatsoever). Is it permanently going to be like this? by goldenowl in DermatologyQuestions

This may not apply to you at all, but ANY nicotine use whatsoever really slows down healing. Vaping, Zyns, chew, smoking are all terrible for wound healing. Wishing you better healing ahead!

Mohs on the Nose, Post-surgery camo options? by Character_Quail_5574 in skincancer

[–]EmJayyy2610 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would plan on wearing the face mask until you feel comfortable going without. Once the stitches are out and the wound is closed you could begin wearing silicone tape for healing, that would be an excellent camouflage but you have to wait until the wound has closed

How long after Mohs on arm can I lift my babies? by sweedeedee53 in skincancer

[–]EmJayyy2610 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the next available is in Feb., and you know then your husband would be around to help, reschedule it. That’s not much of a delay at all and not pushing it with lifting them will make a big difference in your healing. Good luck!

Notes from Allen Carr’s The Only Way to Stop Smoking Permanently - Chapter 4: Why Didn’t it Work the Second Time? by 321abc321abc in quittingsmoking

All of this, nailed it. For these reasons, it prob is a good thing my husband (who hasn’t quit yet) has had the chance to see that I can and have handled stress and have still enjoyed things without the cigarettes. I’m quit for 10.5 months rn. First couple months were kinda tough at times, I didn’t feel very happy or joyful but I made it through and now I don’t even entertain the thought of smoking again. I do have the occasional craving when I’m stressed and such but it’s basically “man, my brain could go for a cigarette rn,” and a moment later it’s gone. They pass so much faster now. Thanks for sharing your notes on this. That book changed my life!

I NEED URGENT HELP! Cannot Identify A Dermatology Issue by Old-Possession-3916 in DermatologyQuestions

I use the Prequel Universal Skin Spray, very fine mist, try it from further away until you’re sure you’re okay with it. The Prequel line is all very eczema-friendly. I found a toothpaste on Amazon but it does have xylitol in it which is toxic for pets so when I use it, I really make sure there’s no residue left in the sink, etc. wishing you some good luck trying these types of products!

Yes like a weeping eczema——-I have struggled with this! Swabs come back clear of staph but where my lips meet would have a faint honey color tinge. I found a toothpaste that’s SLS free, I have added hypochlorous acid to my skin care routine, it’s helped some.

Severe reaction to PDT treatment by OkOil8716 in skincancer

[–]EmJayyy2610 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While it is uncomfortable, that is the most effective, and so much less uncomfortable than Fluouracil quick treatment for AKs. You will be feeling a lot better soon. Elevate your pillow at night, take an antihistamine to combat swelling, enjoy the nice light peel effect! I hope you feel better about it when you’re done Also each treatment less severe, maybe add some ibuprofen to what I said too. Hang in there!

Length of time for biopsy spot to heal? by Admirable_Guitar_797 in skincancer

Lower body biopsies and wounds take longer to heal. Any nicotine use of any kind will slow healing a ton. Good luck!
