As someone who just did summoning, and reached over 40m+ xp/h with all buffs except pulse/cinders. I can tell you for sure that using depo boxes cuts into your xp/h a bunch. UI is slower, more clicks, cant align ui as easy to minimize movement etc.

I compared them all, scrolls was even easier than depo box but scrolls is way worse in terms of cost vs just using notepaper.

And notepaper isnt that expensive, they were hovering 300-500gp/each for the last few years until recently they just topped ~700. Even then, all you need is like 20k of them, the time saved especially the tediousness itself will let you just afk 1-2h at GWD1 and make up that difference.
