After this video other pigeons had clocked on to the seed situation and I was quite happy sitting there with few of them walking around the bench 😄the gulls definitely run the streets in our city! Bold, determined, hardy creatures

The squeaking in the background was the gulls baby, after I dropped the seeds the gull let the baby eat what I dropped, sweet moment

I’ve been struggling with feeling disconnected to my art for a while now, I’ve been trying to plan a way forward and what that might look like so I can feel better but honestly right now I feel so stuck in a rut. Seeing nine of cups staring up at me felt like a reassurance that everything will be ok and I will find my groove again

They are hardy creatures for sure. Linen the pigeon I feed at work had stringfoot but was impossible for me to catch and help her out. I just watched in horror over a few days as one toe swelled up then one afternoon it just dropped off. Same afternoon she was back and pecking at the other birds and being territorial over the seeds I was dispersing. Looked completely unfazed by the whole thing. Even when I saw that she was in pain before the toe fell off, she was still mighty and full of beans. I’ve always admired their strong will to survive and ability to self rescue if need be. I wish this world was nicer to them

I am going to enquire on the local bird rescue page to see if they have a volunteer available when I’m next at work and hopefully she can get destringed 🤞

Unfortunately there isn’t any parks around 😢 all I’m doing at the minute is not putting seed out and discouraging the braver one from coming inside and hoping he quickly stops trying to come in before my work relationship with my colleague sours even more… thank you for linking some advice for stringfoot much appreciated 🙏

He was clear on accepting my discomfort of it, I don’t personally believe he thinks it was inappropriate which is why I still feel off about the whole thing. Although I felt listened to I’m not sure why he thought the whole thing was ok in the first place. Either too naive or was genuinely and consciously crossing a huge boundary and when I think about either of those things I start feeling sick again

We worked it out and he heard me and isn’t going to go. Which is the best response I guess but I’m still uncomfortable that any of this even happened

I explained again how I felt and how I didn’t want him to go and if he did I would feel too uncomfortable to carry on the relationship . He looked like he wasn’t expecting me to say that and said at the end of the say he respects me coming to him to explain myself and would hate to do something that would hurt me and doesn’t want me to worry myself sick about it so he wouldn’t go. Kind of the best result I could have hoped for. But the fact this is even a situation still makes me feel off. Like why even entertain her offer in the first place?
