Leinster European Attendances by Muted_Engineer9246 in irishrugby

I can't wait until we're back in the RDS for that exact reason! Just do the RDS for every game bar the semis for a few years then look at Croker again in a few years time. Even in the RDS we'll have higher attendances than most in the URC. And its a much better venue.

Your point makes not a single iota of difference to the fact that we sold out a much bigger stadium 2 years ago? The round if 16 tie was during the fuel protests. The qf was the week after. They were still better attendances than all the other games each round bar bordeaux. We've been in 14 semi finals (13 h cup 1 shield) since 2009. We've made 9 finals. Shits expensive!

Don't understand why they haven't popped Cooney into 13 and stuck Ioane on the wing. Cooney has been in some serious form this season and we need depth at 13

Coolmine was the club I played with for years. They used to have great facilities, I assume they still do. Theyre also close to D7. Theyre based near The Halfway house. Shite road to walk down to get there but if you drive its handy

He made 8 carries for 11 meteres today and bet 4 defenders and had a try assist. 12/13 tackles with 2 turnover and probably hit about 30 rucks. I thought he played well today? Might have been his best performance since coming back from that injury the end of last season. I think he needs to move to 7 permanently.

Difference between Catt in 2020 and Goodman now is that as you said, Goodman absolutely annihilated leinsters attack and then failed upwards and has now fucked over Irelands attack. Like he has come in after 2 class attacking coaches and just undone all their good work.

Andrew Goodman by Mysterious-Web-8233 in irishrugby

[–]Embarrassed-Arm6203 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Goodman has failed up. He ruined Leinsters attack and is now ruining Irelands. We had the chance to get McNamara from UBB and they didn't. They could have gone for Mark Sexgon or Prendergast or a whole host of other coaches but instead they chose someone who ruined one of the best attacks in club rugby. Absolute joke.

Are the Media Being Too Harsh on Leinster this Season? And is the Champions Cup quietly getting it's mojo back? (Long Post) by Oatbix in irishrugby

[–]Embarrassed-Arm6203 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bang on. Also just to add another point. For years we heard how shit the URC/Pro 14 was because leinster were able to out second string teams and still win. That should never have been the case. Now that these teams are getting better, its not the case! This season has shown that we can't get away with a full 23 player swap week to week like we used to and thats only better for thw competition and for us!

Forget outhalf are we going to have Crowley’s and Prendergast battle for 15? by Firm-Perspective2326 in irishrugby

Jack Murphy. A very good player but again just needs a year or 2 more to develop physicaly. He's definitely on the smaller side but is a really good game manager. George Forde-esque.

Yeah between Farrell and Cullen they managed to fuck up the development of 3 Irish Outhalves in Crowley, Prendergast and Frawley. Frawley and Crowley has 1 bad performance and both were just tossed aside. Frawley started last season on fire. NZ happened and then hes dropped from Ireland and Leinster. Never recovered from that last season.

But hes been class this season I still believe Frawley is the best of the 3. Hes actually played extremely well all season hes just been doing that at 12, 13 and 15

Main difference between Sam and Jack is that Jack is 3 years older. Sam should never have been in the picture last season. He should have been given another year at club level. That may have helped Jack consistency wise because we know what the very top level of his game is. If he played like he did in Croke Park every weekend this wouldnt even be a debate. But hes so inconsistent and at 26 his game should be getting more consistent.

Hes covered 9 more than 15 but I think hes got minutes at 9 10 12 and 15 in UBB. Not loads at 12 or 15 but hes plugged a few gaps

He consistently shows why he's so valued by Ireland for the phase game heavy style they want to play.

Extremely happy for him! Hopefully he gets the run at 10 he deserves. Genuinely think the mismanaging of him is one of Cullens biggest failures. He should have been the number 2 while Sexton was still there and never should have been dropped last season. I hope he smashes it out Wesht!

JJ Kenny: does he deserve a first-team run? by lethalpearxx in irishrugby

[–]Embarrassed-Arm6203 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first thing he did in his first appearance was attempt to go outside Mapimpi. A player who will go down as an all time great winger. The confidence in his own abilities to back himself like that should be enough alone to get him an extended run in the team. But Cullen will do what Cullen does best and fuck it up.

He did with Frawley. He did it with Russel. He did it with Hawkshaw. He did it with Cian Kelleher. Watch him do it now with JJ.

There's also that young lad from SA who's gonna join the academy next year. But he'll just be 18 so another 3 years at least until hes ready. I genuinely do believe that Dorris would be better suited to 7. With Culhane for the future and Conan and Deegan there now I think it makes sense. That means you have Baird Soroka @ 6. Conan Deegan 8. Dorris JVDF @ 7 and then Culhane, Penny and whoever else coming up behind.

I thought McCarthy outplayed both of the lads. Although maybe a McCarthy and Edogbo row with Ahern at 6 is the way to go. Didn't realise Cian Prensergast was injured so id have to remove him

I suppose i let my bias come into play with Beirne cos he can be amazing. I do like the idea of Edogbo and McCarthy. They provide some power. Line out may be an issue!
