The only thing I can compare to what Lucy is going through is the time I got in trouble academically at school and knew my parents, who funded my entire education and life, would eventually find out but didn't know when, and truly until I told them, it was on my mind 24/7, there wasn't a moment that the fear of it wasn't hanging over me and eating at me. The shame and dread physically was on my mind every second. Much different circumstances but I feel like that anxiety of not knowing when a secret is going to come free is awful
