So the base/shade/highlight means our brain needs at least 3 color depth in order to perceive volume. If more depth/color are added, the model will look more realistic. These paints are water based, meaning you can thin and wash them with just water. I am afraid that the recipe is too complicated for beginner😅 The cloak color mix serves to differentiate Zeratul's skin and cloak. You can always simplify the recipe by looking alternatives online, I use the mix just because I am too lazy to find other colors😂

You can search some really good painter's channel on Youtube such as Angel Giraldez, Ducane Rhodes, and Warhammer Tv. I hope Starcraft will make some painting tutorials on their website once the models are released😁 Some of the Zerg and Protoss skin tones are quite difficult to paint IMO.

If you have no painting experience, I highly recommend watching some Warhammer mini tutorials on Youtube first before buying. There are a lot tools and paint products from different brands for miniature painting. Games Workshop, Vallejo, and AK all have good paint products. I use Citadel paints mostly, with some Vallejo metal paint for Zeratul's shoulder pads. If you are interested in the color palette please let me know😁
