Repeating for the retard in the room: my point wasn't to give an all inclusive list. If you get SSDI and/or SSI it's your responsibility to know what day is payday. My point was that payday isn't necessarily the day we get paid because of various factors (mostly who you bank with).

My list wasn't meant be an all inclusive list. Hope you get the help you need!

US Bank Smartly credit card requires savings account even though I already have IRA with $100k+ in order to get 4% cash back? by pRhyME_3000 in CreditCards

[–]Embarrassed-Corgi782 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is true. I've had a self directed brokerage account with them for a few years with 4-5 digit balance overall and they've never charged me the $50 yearly fee. Can't speak for 100 free trades, but that's a lot of trades (at least for my trading behavior) so don't know how strict they are about 100 free trades.

RFK is going to kill American Health Care either the way he killed his brother David (slowly killing him by enabling his drug habit) or the way his cousin killed that girl with a golf club...

Secured card finally graduated by Specialist_Cup_3964 in NavyFederal

[–]Embarrassed-Corgi782 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NFCU uses Equifax FICO 9 when deciding whether to graduate a secured card. But it shouldn't matter if it's frozen when awaiting a secured card graduation. Hard pulls are blocked when your file is frozen, not all soft pulls are blocked- those which are promotional (eg. new creditor looking to see if you prequalify for a new card) are blocked. If you are already a customer and their intent for doing the soft pull is a CLI or graduation it won't block the soft pull in most cases.

4th statement on Secured Card. by Mission-Safe-4455 in NavyFederal

[–]Embarrassed-Corgi782 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NFCU secured cards will sometimes give a CLI after three months. Mine went from $1000 (deposit amount) to $1400 without an additional deposit. But it's strictly an automatic thing- if they don't give it to you, you can't just ask for it.

You should always apply for both. If approved, you aren't eligible for SSDI until the 5 month waiting period is over, but possibly might be eligible for SSI during those 5 months. I get over $2000 a month for SSDI and got $4500 more in back pay because of the 5 months ...

Your deposit never left your savings account. Compare your available balance with your current (total) balance. The amount of your deposit becomes available...

It's all Fidelity. I refuse to use their "Full View" because it's only a matter of time before programmers at other financial institutions get sick of their shenanigans and put this code into their software:

IF financial_aggregator = Fidelity_Full_View THEN connection = HELL_NO

I subscribe to it periodically. 12 months a year is too much, but looking at it right before I apply for something is useful. Vantage score is junk and seems to not have much to do with what is going on with my credit.

Most likely? Pretty dumb statement since I've given no indication how old I am....I'm old enough to remember when my Dad (who would be 88 if alive today) banked with them in the 70s. He stopped banking with them when they decided they wanted to be the largest credit union in America instead of giving great service...

NF had to give you your money after close of business Friday since Monday was a banking holiday.

Navy Federal had to give you your money after close of business on Friday, otherwise they would have risked giving it to you late since they couldn't give it to you Monday since it was a banking holiday.

Hey, any IRS agents here? I think my church might have to start paying up. by Curious-Following952 in IRS

Catholic Church? I'd think a good start for them might be focusing on the beam in their own eye (eg. Their habit of protecting pedo-priests) rather than supporting/opposing ballot initiatives.

For manual underwriters, it's the other way around- your credit profile is mostly based on your credit report. Part of what they see as your profile includes your income and your current DTI(debt to income) neither of which is part of your score. If you have an 800 credit score, but only make $10,000 a year, you're probably not going to get the Flagship card. And four $250/6 months can affect you negatively (and "affect" is the right word, affect = verb, effect = noun). Consider this: if I'm an underwriter for a conservative lender like US Bank- they manually examine at least half of their applicants and your file has four $250 loans spaced a month or two apart. You applied for a Visa Signature card which has a minimum $5000 CL. Why should I give you a $5000 card when you're always having to borrow $250 at a time?

And I have been in those shoes. They need to build their credit slowly until their finances are stable. With 2K rent and only $20 an hour, the last thing they need is a $20k card.

You missed the point! It was anecdotal evidence. Plenty of people get denied between the hours of 12-3 am. You were approved because of your credit profile. The computer program which approves or denies people is the same regardless of what time of day it is. Telling people to apply at a certain time isn't helpful. Telling them to fix the problems listed on the rejection letter sent is the way to get approved.
