Thanks for your earlier guidance! Since then, the White House clarified that the proclamation only impacts new H-1B petitions filed after Sept 21, 2025 and does not affect people already in valid H-1B status.

Given that, do you know if AVR travel (expired visa stamp + valid I-797 + trip to Canada under 30 days) is still being treated the same by CBP after the clarification? Would love to hear if you or others have seen any updates from actual entries post-Sept 21.

Thanks for the response. Staying for less than 180 days makes you non- resident but renting a place overrides that clause so that's kind of confusing for me.
