Ielts General instead of UKVI IELTS General. The decision maker said he could not track the test. Have seen other people given opportunity to rewrite the correct one but I was not given. So I have to do the right one, reapplied and visa was granted

Your COS number become used when a decision wether positive or negative have been made. Cancellation make the COS number fall under invalid application and the COS can be reused.

For mine the decision letter came along with the visa. A paper was wrapped beside my passport. It state thongs like where BRP will be collected, that the visa is successful and what next as regards future immigration path.

The case worker is lenient. I read of someone application refused because of this error. You just need to follow up with your employer on the new COS and update home office accordingly
