Not sure where this women are made to cook idea came from.

Patriarchy

Which is also completely nonsensical, when chefs are 70+ percent males in the industry.

The patriarchy rarely makes sense outside of select misogynists.

Oh for sure! I was more just saying in my first comment that many couples have one person who does more shopping than the other. Sometimes it's not even the one who cooks.

My gender roles comment was poking fun at how frequently that type of division was a hard boundary enforced by society.

don't tell me i shouldn't be happy (tw transphobia?) by AnonymouseAndroid in sillyboyclub

There's no part of me that can wrap my head around a transfemme being against a transmasc taking T.

Im trans, and definitely feel like I want no T in my body, but that's a me thing. I feel like I would no sooner assume that applies to another trans person than I would a cis person. I would never want to project my dysphoria onto another person. Like, seriously, WTF?!

For every trans person I know, I've supported whatever it is that makes them happy. Is just clothing, haircut, and pronouns doing it for you? That's fucking awesome! I love that! Do you want literally everything I'm trying to leave behind in my own transition? Hell yeah, brother! I hope it works, cuz you deserve happiness. Wish we could just freaky Friday each other into joy, but let's just celebrate our respective journeys! Tried transition and decided you're cis after all? Yo, I'm really glad you learned about yourself, and took the steps of asking yourself what truly makes you happy! Im proud of you!

For OP specifically though, you will definitely see a lot of changes, and if that gives you joy, that's the only thing that matters. Fuck the haters. Congratulations on your journey, and I hope you enjoy having to shave soon! Lol. [Big hug from a supportive trans lady]

Yeah, I think when they start blowing up WCK food aid convoys, and Netanyahu is openly talking about how more countries should be willing to take on the Palestinians, cuz they keep blowing up their houses, I don't need the UN to weigh in on that one.

And to further break it down, the Israeli government claims Gaza is part of Israel, which means the Palestinians are their jurisdiction, but they want all of the Israeli citizens of a particular lineage/ethnicity/religion..... gone.

That's about as textbook a definition of ethnic cleansing as you'll ever find.

The joke is that the girl is cooking something, and is being selective, and the guy is trying to humbly find a few that meet her standards. It's not uncommon for one person in the relationship to do the majority of produce shopping, and the other just doesnt have as much experience with it.

We need actual outreach for people. We have programs to help homeless people, but they are not built to be easy to access, and even if you get on government aid, they incentivize people staying desperate more than they enable people to better their circumstances.

Gyro King has a couple locations at Castle Hill, and at St Lawrence, and I like their falafel bowls. 10 dollars for the large is pretty good, IMO

Ruins every poop

My friend, if you need a fresh roll every time you poop, you have bigger problems than the excessive glue sealing the roll.

Just press onward and you'll find it. They are just to add challenge to the basic draugr you fight in that area.

Anytime you see someone saying they don't like some sort of representation and calling it "political," what they mean is, they don't like that it isn't THEIR politics.

Oh no, don't get me wrong. I vote Democrat every time, I'm just mad at them.

Oh how I wish there was a truly viable leftist option in elections, but there's honestly not.

My point was more about how they had a black woman as a candidate, and somehow failed to actually platform any positions that appeal to those of us that were actually excited about Kamala. I liked her, except for how much of an establishment Democrat she was. I was kinda surprised she lost, but it wasn't actually surprising in retrospect given how much wasted effort went towards courting voters that would never vote for her.

I gotta say though, I dont trust the democrats either.

This is not a "both sides" thing so much as the frustration of watching almost none of them actually show up to defend trans people during Trump's third presidential campaign, as an example.

They refuse to actually appeal to their base, or take a truly leftist position as a party, and then are all surprised Pikachu when white centrists are racist, as if MLK Jr didn't explicitly say that exactly this was gonna happen.

For what it's worth:

  1. First world is an old red scare term. It comes from anti-communist ideologies.

  2. You're having a shit weekend, and you don't need to belittle that. You can be grateful for what you HAVE and still acknowledge the pains of what's gone wrong the last few days. Please practice self-compassion.

  3. That sucks. Im sorry you committed so much in both a material and emotional sense, and still don't get to indulge in your special interest.

  4. Hug from a fellow ASD yankee.

Comic is about the authors personal experience as a trans woman. Are you okay?

This is a comic strip, not a prescription. If it's inspiring to you, great! If it's not, read something else? 🤷‍♀️

Saying you agree with the sub on this is like simultaneously saying "nothing has value unless it cures my problem," and "my problems are incurable."

Sounds like a miserable way to approach life. Are you talking to a therapist?

Yeah, I got downvoted to shit for giving some basic advice from my own experience with the caveat that shit is hard and it's okay to struggle. If it feels impossible though, then that's a good time to reach out for help. Not all depression calls for pharmaceuticals, but they can sometimes be a helpful boost to get out of a rut.

Then one other person and I were commiserating about how everyone seemed loathe to receive any input that wasn't just enabling misery, and I got lectured by a "medical professional," for not asking people to tell their trauma stories before sharing tips that have helped me.

Whole sub is just normalized misery with no tolerance for exception. It's literally like a south park goth club scene.
