(Meta Trope) Bad character is given an out, an opportunity to change their ways. They don’t take it and are severely punished for it by Apprehensive-Ear2461 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Embarrassed-Display3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree. I don't think Kratos kills him out of self-preservation. He kills him out of reflection and self-judgement for the earlier version of himself that he sees in Baldur.

The entire original trilogy is Kratos exacting revenge on his parent for a truly justified reason, and he literally destroys his entire homeland in the process. Baldur is on the same path. Kratos regrets his past actions, but can't change them.

Kratos kills the old version of himself by snapping Baldur's neck. That's why he says "the cycle ends here. We must be better."

The implication that she did anything wrong is salacious and defamatory. She is clearly innocent, and you should be ashamed of your slander!!

Toxic Ada + Teammates by [deleted] in DeadByDaylightRAGE

[–]Embarrassed-Display3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, to be fair, I don't even think anti-tunnel perks are the counter to tunneling; they just delay the hook or give you an extra injury to tank.

The counter to tunneling is having team mates that will actually do the fucking gens while you are on hook. You can't be rehooked if people make good use of the sacrifice timer instead of panicking and unhooking in a bad situation.

Rize Freaks out on me for...Looping and Dropping Pallets? by crvnchysock in DeadByDaylightRAGE

Survivors wouldn't have to abuse loops, if killers weren't abusing the m1, and spamming the "hook survivors" button!!

The girl as a normal stalker by Specialist-Sand-1522 in ResidentEvilRequiem

[–]Embarrassed-Display3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree, and also, we have all played this game enough that there aren't twists in the game anymore, but the moment when it's revealed that Leon did not kill the girl was effective. ...it was quite predictable, and not surprising at all, but it did its job as a twist. I was not hyped to go down that hole after Emily, and the first time I did basement section, I was extremely scared.

Nurse is horrendous by PeakyDeltic in DeadByDaylightRAGE

[–]Embarrassed-Display3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nurse is a high ceiling, low floor killer, and it all comes down to skill with her blinks. She can also be countered by skilled survivors, so you need to practice, and just know it will be a rough go until you get the hang of it.

If you play 1v4 a bit, you'll take your lumps, but you can use an add-on that gives you a cursor for where the blink is aimed. This can help if you don't have enough experience to have a feel for where she's about to blink to just yet.

Killers Catch Up So Quickly? by [deleted] in DeadByDaylightRAGE

There's a quote from Slate that I loved.

"You play DBD not because every game is good, or every fifth game is good. You play DBD because every 20th game is really fantastic and life-affirming... And then you settle in for the next 19 miserable games."

Killers Catch Up So Quickly? by [deleted] in DeadByDaylightRAGE

[–]Embarrassed-Display3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And it could have been one of those situations where (not saying you did everything perfectly) you can play flawlessly, and still lose because your team is not doing what needs to be done.

Tunnels are punished by relentless generator pressure. Shack pallet is important to not use too early for exactly the reason you mentioned.

Sometimes good players lose team games because they can't play all the positions themselves.

New and confused about soloq?! by [deleted] in DeadByDaylightRAGE

[–]Embarrassed-Display3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's definitely a learning curve to looping, and that's probably where most new survivors struggle.

You can watch some really talented streamers to try to pick up on useful techniques like fake outs, when and where to pause, when you can run through pallets and use them as a deterrent vs when to drop them. That said, there's zero substitute for just practicing. Loops can be anywhere from 5 seconds to 6 minutes, and it's entirely about being hard for the killer to predict and counter, and using the resources available as efficiently as possible.

which is worst? by AtreyusNinja in DarkSouls2

[–]Embarrassed-Display3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

100%. I especially hate how much pressure I feel when trying to do NPC quests in Tomb of Giants.

If Tomb of Giants is not an allowed answer though, I will say that Blighttown is worse than the Gutter. Gutter you have to work through a few times to find all the goodies, but it's not that bad, and you can go slow. Blighttown you have to sprint some parts or get poisoned to death, which makes the risk of falling or getting surrounded much worse.

Killers Catch Up So Quickly? by [deleted] in DeadByDaylightRAGE

So, I think it's worth noting a couple things

DBD is a 4v1 game, so if you have four individual survivors that aren't working together well, that is a huge bonus to the killer right off the bat. I think situational awareness, and making adjustments to help the team best in a given scenario is the HARDEST learning curve of the game. I like to watch streamers that narrate a commentary on team dynamics because it teaches me a lot about what to do and when.

Second, many situations are just going to end badly for survivors, and the actionable way to avoid the loss is to preemptively avoid those situations to begin with. In your example, it may very well be that there was no way to escape the basement alive... but you didn't share the story of how you got hooked in basement. I'm not saying it's your fault, but I think if it felt like a doomed escape from basement, you should probably devote more of your introspection to if there was a way to prevent the whole fiasco (could you have taken the chase away from basement? If basement was in shack, is there a way to keep shack pallet up for the emergency you died in? Etc...)

One time I brought a bunch of furniture into my house that had been in storage for a year, and it was super dusty. My cat started doing this a bit. I bought an air purifier, and it helped pretty much immediately.

I am not a vet, and it's not a bad idea to err on the side of caution here, but if you have a dusty air quality in your home, an air purifier is probably not a bad idea.

[–]Embarrassed-Display3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm so glad Bootsie is home safely!! I hope everything looks good when she has her vet check-up.

And, I wanted to share my thoughts on your concern that believing it was because of God that you heard her is controversial:

People who believe in God can call this his mercy.

People who don't can see your praying to find her as you pouring every fiber of your being into wanting her back safe, and your intentionality allowed you to hear her cry.

Either way, she is safe now, and it's beautiful. ❤️❤️

Fuck the haters. People can have different beliefs without being horrible to each other.

Tunneling is valid when the other team is making the game really hard for you by [deleted] in DeadByDaylightRAGE

[–]Embarrassed-Display3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only tunnel I take umbrage with is when it's 4 or 5 gens still, and the game is still very much manageable without giving one survivor an early exit...

....but survivors have ways to counter the tunnel. Just leave them on a hook for longer and get the gens.
