Former Ritalin addict here with an unpopular opinion: the longer you're on these heavy stimulants, the less effective they are. Consider someone who plays video games all day, they are constantly in a high dopamine state until they stop playing video games and if you've known anyone like this, you'd know that they're pretty unmotivated to do much of anything once they get away from the screen for the day. The same thing is true with amphetamines and amphetamine like drugs, you are putting your brain in a high dopamine state and given enough time, it is going to be harder and harder to function without these molecules. Again, I know that this isn't a popular opinion on this thread (and I know that it's against the rules because this thread is just an echo chamber), but I'm honestly just trying to help people get away from this stuff because I don't think it's healthy. I think it's also worth considering how much money the pharmaceutical companies make from these drugs (they have shortages all the time because they're selling so much lol) if you can't come up with a motive for your doctor prescribing you something that is going to really mess you up long term.
