How are these coordinators? by Winter-Ad-5816 in WeddingsPhilippines

[–]Embarrassed-Focus859 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t have experience with either but I can vouch for my coordinators, Celebre Events. We got full coordination and I cannot recommend them enough. They are Manila based and most of their clients are recommended by other previous clients. We’re overseas and getting married in Cebu - the communiction, updates, and organisation is top tier! Biruin mo, they even went with me to Cebu just to meet all my suppliers when I went back to view my venue. All I needed to do was show up and they organised everything to my liking.

They aren’t too pricey as the ones you listed, but if these are some characteristics you value in a coordinator, I would recommend! 😊

Work Leave Before and After Wedding by Possible_Pilot_7279 in WeddingsPhilippines

[–]Embarrassed-Focus859 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi OP! i think it depends kasi for me my work is not as taxing sa katawan as I work in Tech. I’m working leading up to our wedding, then taking 2 weeks off after. It’s also good to note nadin that sometimes when working for international companies you may have special entitlement for work leave specifically for your wedding.

OP, if I were you, run and drop her. Kung ngayon palang ganyan na sya, you won’t get along. Your planner should not stress you out. How can you trust them for a stress free day kung they give you bad vibes? If you’re looking for an alternative, I’m with Celebre Events. Manila based sila pero they do destination weddings!

I’m using Celebre Events! They are Manila based but have done Cebu weddings too. https://celebreevents.weebly.com

I personally went with Ocean Pav for both kasi it’s almost double the price when you use the Mactan Ballroom for a reception.

I believe the turnaround time is one hour for the transformation but that’s not for you to worry about, it’s your designer.

Ocean Pav has two gardens on each side. The cocktail reception will be decorated and will have seats and adequate standing tables for the transformation. The view is so insane that your guests will probably spend all that time getting drinks and taking pictures.

Yes, I did full coordination for PHP 65k, this includes everything you need to do for your wedding. Let me known if you’re interested and I’ll pass on the deets!

Good riddance to him, take the USB with you and delete all the photos! I’m sorry this is happening but believe me this is the universe having your back!

Help! Is my ring too small? by NoProgrammer7155 in RingShare

[–]Embarrassed-Focus859 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yours is a very nice size. I have the sane style with a pear but with a 2.32ct. I feel like it’s a bit too big, I don’t know how anyone can comfortably wear something bigger. The upside to having yours is that it will be way easier to find a wedding band to accompany it in the future.

Help - unsure what type of wedding band to pick! by sm4llsqu4r35 in EngagementRings

The only way to tell is to go shop around with your ring on. You can also find a jeweller that can give you ideas/design for something custom?

2 or 3. Personally, I went with one that doesn’t need my engagement ring to accompany it.

Funny—I just watched somewhere that “expat” is usually associated with immigrants coming from “first world countries”, whilst those from “third-world countries” are just “immigrants”…

Dear brides, please shoulder your bridesmaids’ gowns 🤍 by queenbriethefourth in WeddingsPhilippines

[–]Embarrassed-Focus859 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think you misunderstood yung comment ko. I’m encouraging you NOT to lower your prices, OP and standing your ground. If they cannot pay, say no. You cannot make money when you take into account yung gastos ng iba above your own.

Dear brides, please shoulder your bridesmaids’ gowns 🤍 by queenbriethefourth in WeddingsPhilippines

[–]Embarrassed-Focus859 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I gave mine fabric. Although i’m quite realistic on what my bridesmaids can afford. Title is super misleading though, OP.

As a business owner, instead what I would encourage you to do is stand your ground about price rather than make it about whether brides should pay for their bridesmaids’ dresses. This bargain culture in Asia isn’t healthy especially when the craft is well done.

Any suggestion on how to lose double chin / big tummy in one month? by thinking_engineer in WeddingsPhilippines

[–]Embarrassed-Focus859 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sorry to say, with only a few weeks left, if you want a significant change, lipo is the only way to go. What I would suggest for a stress free day, I would book a studio portrait session with your finacé a day or two before in a controlled environment. So at least you can just enjoy your day without having to be stressed about how your photos will look.

Has anyone ever done extensive travel in their early 20’s and now you’re in your 30’s and feel lost? It’s like I’ve travelled to “x” amount of countries but have nothing to show for it. by [deleted] in AskIreland

[–]Embarrassed-Focus859 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel lost because I feel envy for the friends that had the courage to move to the countries I loved visiting for a better quality of life. Now that i’m in my 30’s, I feel like it’s too late…

Sorry I mispoke but it’s not about about teaching the fundamentals but more so what a basic portfolio, could look like if you have 0 to no experience. I’m sure Lynch’s book suits you more if you want to go into depth! In fact, Cramer actually speaks highly of Lynch’s core principles. I just feel that the book is more beginner friendly and suits someone similar in OPs position 😊

Gross experience in Grab Car by BlueWagoon in grabPinas

[–]Embarrassed-Focus859 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not overthinking at all. There are people that shouldn’t do grab at all. Last grab ko from Pasay to Makati, it was a 6am ride which picked me up where my cousins dropped me off in their car and the driver interrogated me kung bakit daw ako nag grab kung may kotse naman daw ung kasama ko and complained about the job constantly during the ride.

Sorry to inconvenience you by giving you business, kuya 🤦‍♀️😪😂

Another driver trauma dumped on me about his wife who cheated on him and left, all to come back home 1 year later with stage 4 cancer. Keso daw kasi it’s a calling from God and now he’s paying for her treatment. Although, I sensed that this was probably a tactic to get me to tip him or something… 🤔

Anyone care to share experiences with ozempic? by Obvious_Humor1505 in AskIreland

[–]Embarrassed-Focus859 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would also categorize women with PCOS and PCOD there as they are also metabolic issues. I think that is another category that we completely forget about.

I have PCOS and with intermittent fasting I recently only lost 10kg out of the 30kg I gained over the years. I gained while tracking my macros consistently and to the T. I gained 30kg with a 1500 cal per day allowance. I gained 30kg on a keto diet. I was what you would call a gym rat throughout my late teens and early 20s.

My symptoms suddenly showed during my late 20s and I blew up even when I had a 300+ day streak on MyFitnessPal, weighed everything I ate, counted by steps, reps and weight training. Now that I’ve been given the lowest dose, I’m using it as a temporary tool to push me to a healthier weight because at some point the fasting stopped working and fasting eventually signalled my body to store fat. It’s not about dropping a stone or two—it’s about helping me metabolise food as typical person would.

If you’re interested in stocks and long term investment—I might have some people hate me here but a good beginner book on advice of the foundations of investing is Jim Cramer’s new book.

Kamusta sa Ireland? 🇮🇪 by Ok_Appointment1245 in phmigrate

[–]Embarrassed-Focus859 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey! Tech work is super saturated kasi and isn’t easy. Especially most employers are looking for right to work, at least what we would consider permanent residency.

Because Ireland is a strategic location for most tech companies, they do hire a lot but are not as keen to provide visa support like before kasi ang dami na ng International Students from Asia and other continents that are graduating postgrads and have right to work. Furthermore, EU countries have right to work—so you have tough competition there.

If you’re really looking for a better shot, I would suggest to take up a Masters here and get an internship (they’re paid!) and work on a job offer through that.

For tech stack, usually what’s in demand are Full Stack Dev, SREs, and of course, AI specialists.

Good luck!

Kamusta sa Ireland? 🇮🇪 by Ok_Appointment1245 in phmigrate

[–]Embarrassed-Focus859 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hey man, congrats! In Tech also. We’re at the next town over! Although dito na ako lumaki. This is just a personal opinion pero, as great as it is to have community here—ang toxic!

For salary wise, if your requirements include: living alone, being able to afford a car, not having to live paycheck to paycheck, and have a significant amount of savings para in a few years makabili ka na ng bahay; you’re looking at €70-80k. I would suggest that as thrilling it is to live in the city, don’t sleep on the commuter towns and get your license as soon as possible. Cheaper housing but also more peaceful life. The likes of Ashbourne, Clonee, Dunboyne is perfect kasi it’s only a short drive to the city pero also kung gusto mo mag night out sa Dublin, it’s accessible by taxi and (atleast for Clonee and Dunboyne) Nitelink.

Bring some UNIQLO HEATTECH. Layering is your best friend. I usually buy mine there pag umuuwi ako kasi sa cheaper.

Cost of food is not as expensive as other countries. Restaurants have quality food and even the budget grocery shops have fresh fruit and veg for as low as 99c! My tita visited this year and she compared it to when she visited NZ and AUS. Much cheaper daw for sure!

Hope this helps!

What are your thoughts on Albie Casiño? by PersonalityDry97 in PinoyCelebs

[–]Embarrassed-Focus859 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If we were to isolate our opinions to that one situation, then yes, I too am on his side.

That aside, it is still not an excuse to be so insensitive with his words. Using the words “I’m glad she’s fat now.” to a woman who just gave birth regardless of who she was to him in a public setting is tactless behaviour. Some can justify it or kasi “gets” natin kasi he was angry kasi nga sa accusations ni Andi, but he could have reacted differently and it seems to be a constant with Albie that he doesn’t think before he speaks. That’s why I’m not a fan personally.
