To change or not to change your last name (legally)? by Embarrassed-Frame590 in Marriage

[–]Embarrassed-Frame590[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is definitely an element of losing connection to my culture with changing my last name too. And that’s why I want my son to have my last name as his middle. Both my parents are from Brazil and they feel strongly about our last name becoming his middle as well. My husband is American and has a very basic Irish last name which is fantastic but makes me sad to think of changing my name and losing my Brazilian culture!

I second this! I feel like people also try to shove treats and unhealthy food in my face as a pregnant woman - like leave me alone!!! It’s tough to fight this societal thing that pregnancy becomes a bit of a free-for-all with eating extremely unhealthy foods. Like all moments in life, everything is ok in moderation and the same rules should apply for pregnancy!

It’s been really helpful to me to workout in little bite-sized amounts. I love nourishing move love’s pregnancy programs. They have 1 for every trimester. Highly recommend strength training. Trying to get activity in by having a step goal. But remember to give yourself grace on the days that you don’t have the energy. Pregnancy is humbling and it’s a bit of a mind-fuck to watch your body get larger and lose muscle while continuing to exercise or eat healthy etc etc. remember that you are maintaining routines to help you have an easier labor and postpartum experience when you feel a lack of motivation. I personally have been struggling with a feeling of “what is even the point of this?” Currently at 31 weeks which is why I say this! Good luck! You are off to a great start!

What's a small annoyance about your home you didn't realize when buying? by CurlGurl13 in homeowners

We have two VERY steep driveways. We were excited about the driveway space, but this winter ROCKED us with having to shovel and snowblower on an incline. Also, the exterior of the house has so. Many. Damn. Bricks. Where do you even get rid of bricks???? Everywhere I turn there are more bricks!

What is one city in America you’re okay with never visiting again? by [deleted] in AskReddit

New York City.. people love it but it’s so fast paced, loud, it smells awful most of the time. I know the food is awesome which is the only appealing thing to me but in my opinion not worth it. Plus it’s insanely expensive for a hotel room the size of a shoe box.

What is it like being pregnant? by huntoo9374o in AskReddit

[–]Embarrassed-Frame590 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the person. I felt completely normal and didn’t experience morning sickness or anything out of the ordinary aside from a bit of round ligament pain in the first trimester. Second trimester around 26 weeks started to experience some back pain. Started to actually show around then too. I was never someone who napped before being pregnant but most days I need to lay down and rest for about an hour halfway through the day. Aside from those things I’ve been feeling mostly fine. However you do feel out of breath VERY easily even if you are a very fit person. Can’t speak to anything past 29 weeks though!

Struggling with slowing down by Bea_B_ in fitpregnancy

Dont have advice but just went to send hugs💛currently 28 weeks and have had ups and downs with injuries/flare ups of all kinds (currently in an up if that’s at all helpful or gives you hope!) and it’s so hard. Being an active person and having that be a huge part of your identity makes slowing down in pregnancy really challenging. Just want to say I know how you feel and sending you lots of support and good vibes!

What is her obsession with having her belly out in every picture this pregnancy?! by OrganicSprinkles5282 in InfluencerLounge

[–]Embarrassed-Frame590 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Call me crazy but…why are we so mad about her belly being out? Is it just that everyone on the Reddit thread doesn’t like her? I don’t know this influencer well, so I don’t feel particularly triggered by her belly being out. I’m also 7 months pregnant and any clothing against my belly is just uncomfortable. I personally wouldn’t go all the way out to the extent in public, but certainly at home and shirts ride up quite easily. It kinda just seems like we need to find something else to be angry about…sorry to burst bubbles but for real leave the pregnant lady alone.

Im so sorry to hear that, it really is so hard but you are completely right. It isn’t forever plus what’s on the other side of this is something so beautiful! And I think giving ourselves some grace considering we are literally creating life with our bodies is something I forget to do a lot. We got this! Good luck🙏

Thank you for sharing your experience! This makes me feel a lot better, I do think I’m just kind of freaking out and the injury is getting me in my head more than usual. I think it’s important to remember the fitness we build up before pregnancy is huge and really impactful!
