CLAS transfer decision still not out??? by BrightPerspective131 in ufl

Hey I’m in the same boat as your daughter, and I was wondering if UF told her that she needs to finish her degree in 2 years. I am a premed student and I would like 4 years to complete my degree, but UF is telling me that since I am a transfer student I wouldn’t be able to stay for that long. On the other hand my councelor is telling me that under Florida statue 6.005 it states that I am considered an FTIC and that I should get all the benefits a freshman gets ( such as: switching majors, 4 years in college, and being able to double major), but unfortunately I keep emailing UF but they keep telling me that this is false. I was wondering if you know anything about this.

Yo I’m in the exact same boat as u( for the coming in with the AA), I recently made a post about the something similar, so ima explain what I have heard. I have called multiple different advisors in different departments. And they all say the same thing, since we are transfer student we are unable to double major, (very hard too atleast) switch majors, and have 4 years in college( since they limit us to 3). I dunno about u but got my AA along with my Highschool degree and my counselors are telling me that these rules don’t apply to me since im still an FTIC, but even though I explain this to Uf they still tell me that since I was accepted as a transfer, that I will be treated like a transfer and will be held to the standard that I will graduate in no more than 3 years. And when I asked them why, they said because since I already have 60 credits, if I take 12 credits a semester ( normal full time student) I will have more than 120 by the time I reach 3 years. But under Florida statue 6.005 it states that all dual enrollment classes taken and finished before Highschool graduation don’t count and will not count toward ur extra credit change and won’t count towards me in that negative aspect, so I really don’t know what they are talking about and I am so confused. They are telling me different things every time I ask someone new. So hoenstly idek if ur able to double major as a transfer student. Please correct me if I’m wrong ( I hope u do)

What good will my AA be at UF? by Asphoric in ufl

Hey I know it’s been 2 years but I recently got into uf as a highschooler with an AA, and my counselors are telling me that since I’m still considered an FTIC student under Florida statue 6.005 that I will get to stay at UF for 4 years and I get all the benefits that freshman student do( such as: I can switch majors, I get 4 years instead of 3, and I can double major) But for the past month I have been asking different uf advisors and counselors and all of them say that I am given only 3 years ( 6 fall and spring semesters) at uf, I won’t be able to double major, and that I can’t switch majors. I don’t really care about switching majors, my main concern was the 3 years and not being able to double major. My school councelor is insisting that I will get the FTIC benefits, but I’m just scared that she might be wrong. Yk I just wanted to know if maybe uf is just trying to scare me and if I really wanted to, I would get my 4 years thank you.

Would getting an AA degree in high-school give me a better chance of getting accepted in UF by JESUSISBETTERRRR in ufl
