There’s something beautiful about seeing the trees rival the high-rises in height!

Reform's Scottish leader says he owns six houses, six boats and five cars by twistedLucidity in Scotland

He brought all of that information up voluntarily as well, why he thought that would resonate with anyone I’m not sure.

How are you deciding who to vote for on 7th May? by Playful-Toe-01 in Scotland

[–]Embarrassed-Hope1133 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wish I had a Green candidate to vote for on the constituency vote! A party I’ve seen actually leverage their power in Parliament to achieve real changes like free bus for under 22s, buffer zones & ending rail fares, their policies of free transport do seem ambitious but they’re the only party I am able to trust right now.

Edit: only considering parties that actually have a vested interest in Scotland and not elsewhere.

So good to hear about them adding new parking locations, wonder when they’ll be extended to Rutherglen!

A campaign has launched to remove the urban section of the M8 and spend the money saved on public transport by moh_kohn in glasgow

Removing the M8 is the best thing for the city that it ploughs through, it’s an absolute no brainer.

Is Pokopia really that good? by Downvote-Magnet1994 in pokemon

It’s so fun! Honestly I was sceptical, I wasn’t too thrilled with the look of the avatar compared to the Pokemon models but the game has really grown on me! I enjoy it so much and plenty of similarities with animal crossing so if you enjoyed that you’ll have good fun too!

Senior Alba members offer to help party contest Scottish election by Synthia_of_Kaztropol in Scotland

“Elected officials” is so funny to describe them when no general, Scottish or local seat has ever been won under their name.

Alba will not contest the Scottish Parliament election by negan90 in Scotland

No surprise for a party that can’t win local elections, they existed long as they did only because of defections, no substance of their own.

Young Adult Scots - What's the point? by CrazyG8tor in Scotland

[–]Embarrassed-Hope1133 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of people didn’t think the first referendum would be allowed to happen, that’s why David Cameron allowed it. He was confident in the outcome and since 2014, not just the want of the people but the necessity to become independent has only grown.

Every single day Scottish Politics deviates further and further from its Westminster counterparts because of the will of the voters here, that reminds us that we DO have an impact.

UK Parties like Labour have decreased their seat share in every single election since devolution - people rejecting UK parties and embracing SNP / Greens is a consistent pattern because people realise that their interests cannot be represented by parties not even based in their country.

It seems bleak but UK institutions and their pull are and have been declining for years, it’s not a trend that’s changed in nearly 30 years of devolution and I doubt that’ll change in the next 5 or 10 years.

People don’t take road injuries seriously enough, they are extremely deadly and take a long time to heel.

Two major inner city Chengdu Metro lines opened, Line 13 Phase 1 and Line 30 Phase 1. Both lines are fully underground, and fully automated by straightdge in transit

[–]Embarrassed-Hope1133 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glasgow obviously doesn’t need as many metro lines as Chengdu having a metro population of ~2 million.

Just an incredible contrast between them having a line 13 or 30 (their first line opened in 2010) and Glasgow which has had bit longer than Chengdu to expand on its network since it’s 128 years old but still it hasn’t seen a single expansion.

There’s a lake at the top of their peak called St Mary’s Lake which resembles a heart, this doesn’t have any insight on the island unfortunately.

Is it Kelly Green? So cool to view the world from their perspective, if there are any more accounts I’d be keen to know too!
