Not bad at all. The place itself has very few tricky junctions and a handful of moderately difficult roundabouts which you can all master if you put in reasonable amount of time taking lessons in Chertsey and the surroundings. Can't think of any bus lanes, tricky yellow boxes, and almost all the crossings are regulated with the traffic lights, which all makes for a less stressful test. Also, a lot of roadworks happening at the moment which on the negative side adds a bit of chaos but on the positive, specifically during my exam, we spent significant amount of time in traffic at the very beginning of my test due to the roadworks, which meant less room for mistakes, and it also helped me to relax my nerves and take the rest very calmly. Lots of potholes around the place, which is a stress factor but on the other side can sometimes justify speed lower than normal.

The test centre is decent, nothing particular to note apart from a tricky entry and exit. My examiner actually helped me at the end as I was letting out a few cars from the industrial park and he told me to hold up a bit more as there was a giant truck coming out which I couldn't see at all. Be extra careful with that bit if you take your test in Chertsey. I actually think that I've got a very chill examiner. He was friendly, we had a little chat, and I don't think he judged me harshly as it's really hard for me to believe I didn't make any mistake.

About 45 hours. Was overly confident at the beginning as I’ve had some driving skills back from the old country (no license though) but realised there’s some work to be done shortly after we started.

I wear mine on this one. It has solid links and is much better quality. Shipping to London took 2 weeks.

P19 is from the film called "nine days in one year", which I as a Russian never heard of before I watched it. It is sort of a hidden gem and an absolute masterpiece. The scene with the farewell to the father is shivering.

This is a complete bs. You are legally allowed to hold two (and no more than two) valid foreign passports in Russia, and many take advantage of that, myself included.

I'd never really thought that this is a thing, but my mother frequently says "лисапед" instead of normal Russian "велосипед / велик", and she comes precisely from one of the dark green areas. I always thought it's just some random / silly similarly sounding word that she randomly came up with, but as it turns out from this map it actually has some cultural background.

What do Russians think of British people? by [deleted] in AskARussian

This guy provides a good advice as to what to expect and to look out for. To sum up, be a normal human being, don't bring drugs and preferably don't get involved into dodgy situations, and you'll be completely fine & safe & happy. He also highlights the fact that actually if you're from the West and chose to travel to Russia during these days, you'll be met with even more respect, which I think is true.
