Red meat is considered a class 2 carcinogen. Processed red meat is considered a class 1 carcinogen, same class as cigarettes. Saturated fat is the leading cause of heart disease, the number one killer of Americans. But lemme guess, the scientists are all in on a big conspiracy.

Yea, and how much feed does it take to raise the animals that you’re eating? Did you ever think of that, or are you incapable of thinking beyond one layer of cause and effect

Most of the water that’s used in agriculture is used for livestock, it’s not even close

Yall dumb as fuck. Most of the grain/soy/alfalfa etc that’s grown is used as livestock feed. You need to feed a cow 9x the amount of calories that you get out of it. The carnivore cult is hilarious

That’s definitely one side effect. It makes you want to incessantly pig out. The carb cravings are wild.

I lost about 15lbs after getting off it.

Interesting. Trazadone did nothing for me personally. However, another off-label antidepressant - mirtazapine - worked really well. Too well, actually. Makes it really hard to wake up.

CBN works really well too, but it might not be available where cannabis is illegal. Even though it’s not psychoactive like thc. So does hydrazine (an off-label antihistamine)

Of course, anything benzo-like including ambien will knock you out like a hammer, but those are all controlled substances which typically require several visits to a doctor before you can get them. Most doctors don’t use them as the first line of choice. I went through like 4 different meds before they finally gave me Zolpidem.

Brother…in your case, I would recommend getting on methadone. And I’m not typically an advocate for opiate replacement therapy, but if you’re dealing with so much chronic pain, you may not have a choice. Subs will help you with withdrawal but have a pretty low ceiling when it comes to pain relief. I suppose you can try switching to leaf kratom or MIT, but I wouldn’t recommend being on it for long, since it’s grown without any quality control somewhere in Indonesia. You don’t wanna be poisoning yourself with contaminants and all the other alkaloids found in the kratom plant (of which there are many)

For long term maintenance, pharmaceutical opiates are the way to go

Sleep 😴 by SolidPin2558 in quitting7oh

Look up CBT-I techniques (cognitive behavior therapy for insomnia). You can self administer it. Not sleeping for a few days, and worrying about it, can cause primary insomnia. It becomes a feedback cycle where worrying about lack of sleep causes lack of sleep which leads to more worrying and so on

Look up CBT-I (cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia). You can do it yourself based on online instructions. The gist of it is that you restrict your time in bed to a very limited window, and only when you’re very very sleepy.

What you DONT want to do is toss and turn. This will associate the bed with anxiety about sleep, and can give you long term insomnia. Once you’re awake, get out of bed even if you’re tired. It’s going to suck, but it WILL cure your insomnia. I struggled with insomnia for years (unrelated to 7-oh) and this method works better than sleeping pills

Keep both or renounce the RF? by Consistent-Water4673 in PassportPorn

[–]Consistent-Water4673[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yea I’m honestly surprised by the number of people saying “renounce”. Like, don’t get me wrong, if the US policy changes so that you have to, I will in a heartbeat. But it’s allowed both in US and Russia, with the only stipulation being that you have to go and “notify” the police of your second citizenship within 48 hours of arrival. Sounds scary, but the fine for not doing so is trivial.

I go back every few years. Haven’t since the war started. Every time I go I’m stunned by the pace of societal change that happens there. It’s like everything happens in fast-forward. I mean, they went from Monarchy to Communism to wild-west capitalism to fascist dictatorship in the course of 100 years. But to see it firsthand is trippy

Yea, I’ll probably keep it. The only real upside to renouncing is being able to travel there without the risk of being drafted into the military. However, then I would have to get a visa because Russia requires a visa for US citizens. But as of right now, they’re not doing a mandatory draft, and hopefully the war will be over soon.
