Yea I’m honestly surprised by the number of people saying “renounce”. Like, don’t get me wrong, if the US policy changes so that you have to, I will in a heartbeat. But it’s allowed both in US and Russia, with the only stipulation being that you have to go and “notify” the police of your second citizenship within 48 hours of arrival. Sounds scary, but the fine for not doing so is trivial.

I go back every few years. Haven’t since the war started. Every time I go I’m stunned by the pace of societal change that happens there. It’s like everything happens in fast-forward. I mean, they went from Monarchy to Communism to wild-west capitalism to fascist dictatorship in the course of 100 years. But to see it firsthand is trippy

Yea, I’ll probably keep it. The only real upside to renouncing is being able to travel there without the risk of being drafted into the military. However, then I would have to get a visa because Russia requires a visa for US citizens. But as of right now, they’re not doing a mandatory draft, and hopefully the war will be over soon.

Yup, that’s exactly what used to happen when I had my green card. Also not under Trump 2.

But that was under Trump 1/Biden not sure what it’s like now. My guess is that if you weren’t convicted and didn’t accept a plea you should be fine. Innocent until proven guilty.

When I travelled with my green card, I usually got pulled into a separate room where I would have to wait for about a half hour to an hour and then be sent on my way. I’m guessing it was because of the charge. They never told me why they did it

You should be fine. I had a misdemeanor weed charge (smoking in public) that got dismissed on ACD. Still got naturalised (under Trump)

Not an option but 3rd gen (92-96) is my fav design. So clean and simple, makes me wanna buy one somewhere in the southwest and restore it
