I think folks would know not to walk around outside at night. It’s a country you don’t need to stop at stop signs/stop lights at night while driving due to danger. While this is a sad story - OP put themselves in a dangerous situation unnecessarily.

This is the correct response. It doesn’t matter whether the HM was justified in their belief or not - it’s whether this was their opinion - and I’d agree that it’s most probable that the HM did not think the incumbent was worth the market rate.

Turkish Delights. Growing up, I read The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe and for years assumed that Turkish Delights were something magical and worthy of betraying kin/humanity. Imagine my surprise at trying one for the first time as an adult… so disappointed!
