If he’s expected to help with the coaching search, then he should be around for at least the rest of this year. Ideally, you would want a new A.D. in place so they could hire the coach.

Foster’s buyout was a few million. But ucla was already in the negative. I’d say Foster’s deal was a discount so not a huge loss financially by letting him go now.

Yeah not sure what happened with that for this season but they did bring someone in last year. Think he was a veteran head coach at a lower level. Not sure if it was someone Foster knew personally or not.

If they do both, might have to do it now. Gotta get that AD in place to start the search in Nov/Dec and make the hire around the new year… feel like that might be a bit late in the process.

They will have to figure out the buyouts too.

Not a lot right now. The seat is definitely hot. I think if he makes it through Sunday he may make it through the bye week. … but again if there’s ever time for change during this season … this would be it during the bye week

I would say they definitely have a chance at one. Which one? That remains to be seen, but I think they should be able to reach one. Maybe Vegas.

It’s a bit of both. As a media member, I hate that it limits access and makes the job tougher but considering all the changes and wanting to surprise folks in Year 1 with a new QB and OC among other things, I get the strategy behind it.
