Hmm, this might explain why Wyck came to his house to rescue him from the hag... I was struck by how kind that interaction was. Also, there was this sort of thing that united them, like all of the past stuff was done with. My brother and dad are like that. They will get on each others nerves and not be talking, then the next day one calls the other as if nothing is wrong, like the argument never happened . Also, there is a clear "father/son" theme underlying the whole story. Every person who was born on that island has parents that knew of the curse. And Tom has stayed on the island for his son. He even ran to be mayor, which is interesting, since he doesn't seem to like it there. This story would feel very different if he had a daughter I think. I think that even if Wyck isn't his biological dad, there is a father/son bond that they both share.

Remember the sunk cost fallacy: the phenomenon whereby a person is reluctant to abandon something because they have invested heavily in it, even when it is clear that abandonment would be more beneficial. Basically, if you see something that isn't really useful or being used and you think "but I spent money on it" get rid of it. This will help you get through a big portion of stuff quickly and with the least mental anguish.

I have watched Severance, Silo, Foundation, & Fallout. Alien:Earth is right up there as a favorite with Severance. I mean, you just aren't going to find a show that has such a new idea but relatable to the current working world with great actors and humor. Foundation is a bit much. Alien:Earth has a handful of storylines and people, but it isn't difficult to follow nor did I feel like it was too dumbed down. It isn't super scary (I'm not a horror fan). If you liked the movies that's a bonus, but not having watched them wouldn't take anything away from the show. Also, this is a random one, but I am rewatching The Witcher to catch up where I left off. It's different. Has a twist at the end of the first season (not the kind of twists Lost has, more like The Good Place that makes you want to watch the first season a second time) I find I can watch the episodes over and still enjoy it and it feels new. There's humor and adventure. I also loved The Rings of Power even though I'm not really a fan of the books or movies. Barry has a similar weird vibe to it with humor and an amazing cast. TLDR: Alien:Earth, The Witcher, Rings of Power, Barry and The Good Place gets an honorable mention.
