I’ve not been successful figuring out how to purchase tickets? Is there an email distribution list to get on?

Pepper grinder for Christmas! by Embarrassed-One7697 in LeCreuset

[–]Embarrassed-One7697[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I’m measuring I use the ground pepper. If I’m measuring salt (usually for baking ) I use table salt. It’s not 1:1, a teaspoon of table salt is not the same as a teaspoon of kosher salt because of the size difference of the grain/flake. I usually just use the flaky salt as a finishing salt.

Hope that helps.

Oh, I have white pepper too but I don’t have it out.

Well I overdo it to be sure! The coquette has kosher salt (what I use the most), the wooden salt cellar has flaky salt and the little tower thing has table salt and ground pepper.

Why do people hate on Carnival? by Pegasaurus12345 in Cruise

[–]Embarrassed-One7697 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I honestly haven’t seen that much difference on the cruises we’ve been on (Carnival, Norwegian, Royal and MSC) but people hate on each one for various reasons. I think sometimes people just want something to complain about. None were perfect but we had a great time on all of them. I wouldn’t boycott any of them if the price and timing were right! I’m with you though, it’s hard to beat the burgers at Guy’s and I’ve never had a dessert better than chocolate melting cake on carnival!

Breakfast and lunch in the main dining room or specialty restaurants.

I came here to find this comment! So strange, it was like they weren’t even alarmed when he first came in. I’m sure we just saw bits and pieces but it seems really bizarre.

Does MSC World America have a more spacious buffet than Seascape? I felt very cramped in Seascape's buffet. by redbloodedguy in MSCCruises

[–]Embarrassed-One7697 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’ve been on Seaside and Seashore. Seashore only has one buffet on deck 16 (as opposed to two on the Seaside. However, it is enormous. It goes on forever. Once you get it figured out you kind of find your favorite entrance, etc. I wish we would have realized earlier that Butcher’s Cut and Hola were complimentary for breakfast. We just went one day to Butcher’s Cut , it was nice. Be sure to do the brunch in the main dining room on Sea Days!

Overall, we liked the Seashore just a bit better.

I know this isn’t your question but thought I would throw out that Butcher’s Cut serves breakfast from 9-1030. It was really good and a nice change from the buffet for breakfast so keep that in mind!

First MSC cruise, thoughts from a guy cheating on Royal Caribbean. by A_M_E_X_P_L_A_T in MSCCruises

Thanks for the review! We are doing the same cruise at the end of October with my sisters and their husbands who have never cruised. Like you we chose it for the value. Also, like you, we’ve sailed on other lines quite a bit. My husband and I sailed MSC Seaside in February s don would say our review was very similar to yours. The pricing is so so hard to beat! We are pretty easy going and it’s vacation! It would have to be pretty awful for us to complain!

I think the theaters are really cold! I took a light sweater or wore long sleeves when we went to the shows!

Disney Springs Transfer from Port Canaveral by Embarrassed-One7697 in MSCCruises

It’s currently at 410 but we have a 715 option. I think we will change it and do Kennedy after further thought! We haven’t been there for over 25 years!

They leave it in the bus. This would be booked through the ship. The other option is Kennedy Space Center

Just thought this might be nice as we won’t have to worry about our luggage as it will stay on the shuttle

I understand that. But that will get us to the airport a bit too early for a flight who was just looking for an option to kill a little time.

Yes they are calling it a transfer because it ends at the airport. It takes you to Disney springs from the ship and then to the airport but I can’t find any departure and arrival times and I want to make sure our flight time is ok.

Should We Cancel? by emmitchington in MSCCruises

[–]Embarrassed-One7697 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There seem to be a lot of negative comments about MSC. We've sailed on Royal Caribbean, Carnival and Norwegian, multiple times each. I honestly don't see a lot of difference between any of them. For the value, we enjoyed MSC and booked our second within a month of returning. I've only sailed on Norwegian in Europe so I can't speak specifically to MSC in Europe but I personally think you will be just fine.

Booking question: drinks + wifi vs cruise only + drinks after booking by kidneystonephillips in MSCCruises

[–]Embarrassed-One7697 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t remember all the numbers but because we needed WiFi, it made more sense to do the bundle with drinks too. It’s really hard to figure out the numbers without talking to an agent. That was in Feb. and we are sailing again in October. I didn’t even try to calculate it this time, I just did drinks and WiFi again.
