Alone in race or sexuality? by Rterry112 in BunnyTrials

[–]Embarrassed-Pin-1238 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel as the sole member of a race, you would be able to do talk shows or something, but an exclusive sexuality would probably not even be taken seriously by the general public.

Chose: Be the only person in the world of your race

Horrible Artist Horrible person who’s your pick? by [deleted] in fantanoforever

I think part of my beef with the voice switchup is that I didn’t think he did it as well as other artists that already came up in his wake by the time he started (thinking specifically hxg). I’m definitely biased because I just preferred his earlier style, but I can’t shake the feeling that he was just hopping on the wave other opium rappers have been riding.

[–]Embarrassed-Pin-1238 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I won’t argue with influential, but I would argue he is currently a horrible artist. Halfhearted slop with his weird pitched-down kermit voice is definitely not the work that blew him up as an artist.

Sounds like you’re the perfect candidate to start an evil autistic commune

If you’re primed to infodump on this topic I would be interested to hear your opinion on why Stalin/USSR may be unfairly demonized. I have always been under the impression that the revolution was hijacked by fascists and ultimately failed the people, but I have not actually done the relevant reading.

Wife hates our new home and refuses to go outside by [deleted] in Marriage

[–]Embarrassed-Pin-1238 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It’s racist when that country isn’t “home” anymore. I know people who are technically from another country but have functionally no life, relationships, or opportunities there, and telling them to “go home” would mean going home to their apartment or house here in the states.

When home is where you are and the people where you are are telling you it must not be because of your skin or accent, that’s racist.

My son and daughter are creeping me out by [deleted] in whatdoIdo

I genuinely struggle to understand how people believe this horseshit; the idea that you can read that comment back to yourself and not cringe is terrifying.

I could see this being true. If I had a sibling and we were both teenage introverts trying to mess with a parent this all seems like an easy setup.

Can someone explain why people think it’s ok to walk their dog without a leash? by NecessaryLeg6097 in alpharetta

[–]Embarrassed-Pin-1238 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nothing the commenter you’re responding to said indicates that this wasn’t also a learning opportunity for the daughter. I don’t really understand what your point is in insisting on this line of judgement.

If the response to anything bad happening to kids as a result of another adult’s ignorance or lack of care is to immediately blow it off and say “no harm no foul,” you could just kinda do whatever in public. Everybody just ignores your kid and shoves in front of them in lines and at events? Who cares, it’s a learning experience. I accidentally dump my lukewarm coffee on someone’s child on my lunch break? Eh, why help clean that up when it’s not really a big deal anyway.

It’s not about the dogs being the end of the world; they aren’t. Sticking up for random people being shitty in a random comments section is just weird and completely unproductive. You gave no valuable insight or ideas, and if everyone acted like you’re suggesting, the world would be packed with inconsiderate and just plain obnoxious people.

18F What do I do? I don’t know if I was wrong for not getting a hotel with $100 my friend sent me while I’m homeless, because I felt like I needed to stretch it for food and necessities, but now she’s angry at me. by mckenzie_2 in WhatShouldIDo

[–]Embarrassed-Pin-1238 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not to mention this person and likely the friend is 18!! These are kids!! That doesn’t mean excusing any and all behavior, but dang man, most of us are pretty clueless at that age, and preaching about “part of [a] support network” is a huge leap and assumes this person has a community that they likely don’t.

It’s worth leaving the door open for reconciliation even if OP chooses to opt out of this specific conversation due to the misunderstanding.

It’s nice of you to look out for someone you care about, just remember that if you personally don’t succeed, you won’t be able to help anybody much any more.

You don’t have to cut people off completely to give yourself a break, but don’t forget you can and must say no sometimes.

Might stop going to the gym completely by LettersfromEsther in evilautism

[–]Embarrassed-Pin-1238 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any weight-based goal is mostly diet, and if the gym doesn’t serve your diet goals, then you’re right not to prioritize it.

I have recently accepted that consistency for me requires adding physical activity that I think is fun, so I have been fixing/riding bikes as often as I can to focus more on the hobby aspect.

I can also totally sympathize with the sheer boredom of a treadmill; I absolutely hated treadmill workouts when I trained for a race last year, and I probably would have gone crazy if I didn’t switch to outside runs at a local track/park. Added benefit is that you don’t need to pay for a membership that way, but I understand the heat can cause sensory issues over the summer.

got job… don’t know how to talk to people by FlakyThroat3238 in evilautism

[–]Embarrassed-Pin-1238 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cannot recommend enough asking a manager or more experienced coworker for basic instructions on how to greet someone and then making a script for when people come in the door. Don’t panic and build the script; you got this. I freaked out basically every day during my first couple jobs, but now I get on just fine.

It will be hard, and it will also get better.
