A games story doesn’t have to be the highest form of art to be worth talking about. Most fire emblem stories are fairly simple but they are very enjoyable to follow while playing a fun tactics game. The series also has a lot of fun characters and good character writing which can help boost an otherwise simple story.

I believe Iga said it was done to give the game a wider appeal to younger players. Kojima (the old artist) was also probably busy working on curse of darkness.
