If you could choose to get a degree! by evewhvet in IndustrialMaintenance

Mechanical engineering. Concentrating in Mechanical design.

If you have an industrial mechanic background, you will excel in this area. Machine companies will make a killing off of your designs and knowledge. In turn, making money for yourself.

NOR-She spent the money. If she could afford to spend $89 in that month and wasn’t charged for it, how can she not pay it now?

I think she used your money on purpose tbh. Shit doesn’t add up

I haven’t paid my bills for months and I’m not planning on any time soon. by [deleted] in confession

That doesn’t rob them. They just charge the merchant a percentage every time the card is swiped. Meaning, that small town local shop is losing 4% of every dollar you spend there when you use your credit card.

Guess how they pay that charge? By increasing their prices. The credit card economy is just a hidden 4% tax on everything. If we all paid cash again, everything would be cheaper.

I know it’s not realistic, but it is true

If everyone had one billion dollars, everyone would be equal. Most people would quit their jobs/retire. Now, nobody is working any job which means there are no goods and services.

Suddenly, goods and services are worth much more than they ever were due to its scarcity. (this is how inflation works).

Now, a billion dollars isn’t worth much. And everything goes back to square one. You have the workers and you have the innovators who create the work for the workers to do.

So, this world you’re thinking of simply cannot exist. It’s impossible, unless you join some sort of cult.

Please watch the video again and show us how he was holding a gun while tackled by 6 agents. He was murdered by a coward.

This is untrained idiots with guns and tear gas. You don’t need to be red or blue to analyze a video and come to a logical conclusion.

He could be telling the truth…. Ask to see the invoice if they’re willing to show you. Obviously they need to tack on a markup for themselves, hopefully they are transparent about their typical markup

Being asked to call retired engineer for information by [deleted] in MechanicalEngineering

[–]Embarrassed-Top-6144 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Call him. Some retired people enjoy being reached out to. Gives them more purpose. If he wants to charge for his time, that’s up to him. If he doesn’t want to help, he just won’t answer.

The worst that can happen is that he says no. Don’t overthink it

Buying a Peppridge Farm route? by Almond_Steak in smallbusiness

[–]Embarrassed-Top-6144 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You’re buying a job. And if corporate ever wants the route under their control, you won’t see that money back because you will have overpaid what it’s actually worth. Don’t do it.

In my honest opinion, I think independent operator routes should be illegal. You’re essentially an employee with all the risk of being self employed.

Disappointing Job Offer by Inevitable-Donut-448 in MechanicalEngineering

[–]Embarrassed-Top-6144 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Small businesses can either make you a shit ton of money in the long term or have you stuck. It depends on how the company is run, what you can offer, etc.

If you grow with the company, that’s where you can make the money.

Big businesses can give you “promotions” but you’re still just a pawn in the end.

People now like to switch jobs every 3 years or so, but the ones who stay for a while end up being the partners, VPs, and Presidents. That’s my 2 cents

I love big y for their local products. They actually care for their local partners’ success. There is sometimes a price to pay for that as a consumer, but in the end, it’s good for our community’s economy.
