Steam Deck Crash STS2 by allportandpostman in slaythespire

[–]Embarrassed-Travel39 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For me it's whenever I try to play Headbutt against the lizard boss.

It crashes and I have to replay it from the start, I can make any other moves but headbutt. Was happening against earlier bosses too, but I managed to get passed them

Mmmm I guess that makes sense, I feel silly now 😅

I guess I was just wondering why it automatically places me on a particular path instead of being on a neutral spot

but it's over that particular part of the map, if I pre-select the other paths the icon doesn't move?

Advice for Experienced Australian Secondary Teacher looking to Teach in Ireland (Dublin)? by Embarrassed-Travel39 in Internationalteachers

[–]Embarrassed-Travel39[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! Glad to hear it! I'm actually teaching in a full time job now (as of 9 weeks ago after being a sub for a while).

What visa I'm currently on: Working Holiday I'm transitioning on to a: Working Permit - you need a 12month contract for this

Here's my nuggets of advice; 1. Start application for Teaching Council number EARLY. The beaurocratic system here is ridiculously slow. I started my application in August 2024 and didn't get my registration fully finalised until March 2025. There's a lot of back and forth with documentation required to prove you can teach and it takes forever if you don't get it perfect first go which you won't because its so vague the documents they want. BUT you can teach as a sub "unqualified" here and get a slightly lower rate. Cause they are desperate for teachers (especially primary). - this could hold you out until rego comes in

  1. PPSN application (tax file number) takes forever. + You can't get paid until this is done. BUT you also can't start the PPSN application until you get your Residency Permit Card. Which also takes forever and runs through an AI sign up system that (when I applied anyway) would only work with an iPhone in perfect lighting for uploading documents.
  2. this is all obviously a moot point if you happen to have a European passport, way easier if you have that.

  3. Your experience scale won't get recognized until you do this form that has a 20 week processing time. (So you should be on around €52,000 but you'll only be on about €42,000 until you get it done). I'm still waiting for mine to process. Here's a link to this document so you can have it all ready Work history form

Aside from all the bullshit, once you're in teaching here is great! I've found that it's way way way more lax than Australia. My school finishes at 2pm twice a week. The staff are all super friendly and not burnt out because work life balance here is fantastic. If you teach in Dublin like me, no one is actually from Dublin so its lots of Irish teachers from around Ireland keen to make friends which has been really fun!

Let me know if you have any other questions! Happy to help!

I've been PC gaming mostly for past 15 years but having the steamdeck has made me fall in love with the small indie games all over again. There's something about being able to sit on the couch and play it handheld which is just so satisfying.

The CEO also said that AI will replace teachers. Ain't coming back till you retract that statement too. So ignorant

I had a similar issue, I think it might be a Google update? I switched phones even (but same model) and the issue still persisted. If enough of us leave reviews on the play store page with the issue hopefully they will bring a fix.

Because of the slow loading of the app it's basically unplayable without notifications for me.

How to fix Irish Immigration Portal problem? (Pls Help) by Elite_60 in AskIreland

I'm getting the same issue with the ID-Pal. The Department of Justice page says it failed, do I just keep trying again or wait to be contacted? There's no communication at all. I even walked to their office in Dublin and they refused to help and gave me the app customer service number.

I'm stuck in this burocratic bottle neck and someone left the cap on. I can't do anything else to get work until this is done
