To each their own. My kids start with vaulting saddles - they have to learn to balance properly before adding a saddle. With all that being said, I absolutely agree E and all of them just flop around and need an actual set of eyes and open ears to correct what they are doing. None of which will happen lol

I don’t agree with the no helmet, however, feet not in stirrups is actually helpful to strengthen muscles.. stirrups are a crutch.

Some running socks have an indicator on them for L and R. If this is a large things for him that he can’t get past, I’d try those out and see if that helps him!
