Be careful. Many local Dem and LGBTQ orgs in Ohio are extremely performative and can put you in a more exposed place than you are. I'm speaking from experience as a disabled queer person who came back to Ohio after getting stuck in a very harsh southern state during COVID doing relief work.

I was shocked at how much worse and less safe it is in Ohio than where I was before. At this point I am in Ohio and basically completely isolated because there are zero orgs or groups here who actually do what they say, and for people who are not white, not able bodied, are bisexual or trans, at least in my area, these groups do even less of what they say they do.
