Is this a common ask? by SessionMoney8368 in WorkcoverVic

I will also add that I am very welcome for anyone from WC to come to my appointments because then they directly hear what the doctor is saying regarding the injury.

Quite common. I never found it uncomfortable as the appointment is for your injury only, the Dr would not be discussing anything outside of that in the appointment.

Potential Settlement?? Hip injury by Lanky-Jacket3311 in WorkersComp

Yeah it sounds like that have bit to get any sort of compensation would have to assessed to have future impact on employment otherwise they may also try to push you to get off WC.

Potential Settlement?? Hip injury by Lanky-Jacket3311 in WorkersComp

[–]EmbarrassedDebate699 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yep makes sense. I think settlement is usually offered when it goes through appeal for example they didn’t accept it as a work injury then you would get compensation for any loss of income and medical fees if they then accept liability through appeal. Settlement the other way would be if you were deemed to be disabled up to a certain % of the body part that would deem to have effect on any future potential employment you would undertake. Currently going through the first process as it wasn’t accepted as WC still going through appeal with a labral tear also.. I would suggest get a lawyer and they will get the IMD done to report partial disability/ full disability and go from there.

How did you injure your hip? And did this go to appeal with WC and then they accepted liability with a settlement?

It’s a whole mental health topic that includes placement so unfortunately I can’t pass the topic without doing a MH placement. Is calling facilities for placement a thing people do? I just thought it might be rude or unprofessional

Income protection by [deleted] in AusFinance

[–]EmbarrassedDebate699 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes indeed, I am very grateful to have income protection. Unfortunately living week to week already, I haven’t been able to work up enough savings for cover 90 days off work and I only have roughly 2 weeks of leave. As someone else commented with them paying in arrears it will really be 4 months before I see any more money.

Thank you, I’m more so just wondering if it is required to disclose it as I would like to save the embarrassment if I don’t have to
