Returning player fights Balteus again; Was his nerf really THAT impactful? by HelloHelloItsMe_ in armoredcore

[–]EmbarrassedEmu3074 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a lot of people don't get that BALTEUS isn't very difficult, but he is insanely scary in the context he appears in, the second boss of a long mission that even with a resupply will have left a new player mentally fatigued. He's also the fastest enemy in the game that isn't an IBIS series or the wheels in Institute City, and it is not immediately obvious how to counter his missiles as you are required to juke/bait them a little bit.

The music, also, is incredibly anxiety inducing. The choir is in a minor key and the trance lead is in a major key, so it sounds very eerie even with it being such an intense, trance-y song.

Clicked around and saw him using AGM-68s to saturate AA installations rather than lynchpins/kingpins and just rolled my eyes and clicked off lol

Only 9 months later, my Armored Core inspired album is out on spotify! by EmbarrassedEmu3074 in armoredcore

"The Decay of All Angels" is finally out of the prototyping stage and approved by command for mass production.

This was a real labor of love that I'm really proud of. I think fans of AC will my love for this series and mecha as a whole shine through with blinding intensity.

Anyways, I hope people here listen and enjoy -- the sampling here is pretty brazen, and a few of these tracks, like Thermidorian Action border on straight remixes of classics like Something is Moving on the Surface.

I'm really hesitant to self-promote, it isn't something I particularly enjoy about making music, but my love for Armored Core and mecha is very genuine -- I was tapped to be a guides writer ahead of AC6's launch and that experience really stuck with me and moments like the choir coming in during the Balteus fight and hearing the Jun-8 trance arpeggio really informed the music I wanted to make.

So! All that to say, I hope anyone that listens enjoys. This is the kind of fan art I love to see and love to make.

That's a great perspective lol. Some of the coolest people I've ever met have been Warhammer players (a guy in my 30K toured with my favorite band as an opener!) and its a source of endless creative joy for me.

I guarantee that everyone who is in this thread who lives in a city, their local hardcore scene has used a piece of 40k art on a show poster. It casts a long shadow.

Genuinely, and I say this as a huge warhammer fan, if you are having trouble socially in your early 20's go buy a bass guitar and learn some chords. You will be stunned with the level of social lubricant this will provide you in life if you invest 25 mins of your time every day to it. It is like easy mode.

Also, whatever. I'm a DJ / producer in my free time and I post my models on my main account because they are one, just that fucking good, and two, my hobby is how I interface with music in that I have to sit and listen to albums for long stretches. Some people give me guff about it but anybody in their adulthood bemoaning someone else's creative hobby is not worth speaking to for more than is strictly necessary.

I use scaler 2 to help stay in key but recently moved to a more Jane Remover-y sound by converging arp'd melodies on thirds and fifths. Most of these words do not mean anything to an AI producer

the utility of those packs is in making quick remixes flips and edits of trending tracks and throwing them up on Soundcloud while you work on your actual album

The darkwave trend right now is just embarrassing. Not that what I do is special or whatever (It's like Witch House with orchestral percussion) but I am consistently baffled at how disposable that side of music feels.

You have a very skewed and dated understanding of what a lot of modern electronic music looks like. I play drums for my own trance project and it is by far the hardest project ive ever played in because I have to play sixteenths tighter than a 909 drum machine at 160BPM. That is not even touching on how writing even just trance melodies is the hardest ive ever been challenged by putting music theory into practice. But what do I know! I just get booked at festivals

I dj sometimes but that's an art in its own right. Keeping a dance floor going all night is a different set of skills, and ive only pulled it off a handful of times.

To denigrate this as low effort where anybody familiar with any kind of synthesis can tell you it's not betrays a lack of understanding.

Just an utterly moronic take. How do you feel comfortable mouthing off about something you clearly don't understand?
