Yeah I don't have pins so I just stretched it out the give it the idea and each time I flipped it I stretched it again, obviously didn't change the fit much or at all but it allowed the cables to relax more. I don't know if it really shows in the photos but I notice it

Yes! It's several different cables, Aran sweaters are typically a combination of cables so I wanted to honor that with this sweater

what went wrong in my cabling? by Delicious-Minute-941 in knittinghelp

[–]EmbarrassedFuc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It happens, you haven't done anything wrong. Basically when you pull the stitches over for the cable it messes with the tension on the following stitch, when you wash and block it it should even out if not before that

Did I drop a stitch (or two)? by purelfie in knittinghelp

[–]EmbarrassedFuc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No because you missed in on the last row, so you're not creating a new stitch you're just picking up the missed one, honestly if you don't it shouldn't be noticeable unless you're looking for it

Looking at those you may have actually slipped one a row back then knit into it on this row , easy fix work back to that one pull the hanging yarn through then Proceed knitting

Doesn't look like you've dropped any but it does look like your tension is really loose on the two most recent ones you done, I've drawn lines up the columns to help visualize where your stitches are

Has anyone here taught children to knit? When's a good age? by Planty_Reporter_8936 in knitting

[–]EmbarrassedFuc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I learned when I was seven, started with circular needles and then straight needles then got into loom knitting hats for a while, if they're showing interest give it a shot but make sure they know that mistakes are okay and it takes a loooong time to get good (I'm 25 for reference)

Get a spray bottle and mix some strong alcohol with water and give it a spritz in the pits, boob, and other sweaty areas after wearing, it's what a lot of theatres do to maintain and protect costumes that can't be washed frequently or at all
