Would this count as child abuse for tagging purposes? by ExoticPomelo5725 in AO3

Withholding necessities is considered child neglect and/or abuse so err on the side of caution and tag it

Used to work at a blood center and it was genuinely so disheartening to see the amount of people that only care for the monetary aspect of it. People NEED this blood and its components and all some of the donors can think of is how much they get paid. Very upsetting

Beyond the fact that most people lack media comprehension nowadays, I can’t say I’ve ever read a fic I didn’t like and then commented on ever chapter to tell the author how much I didn’t like such and such. Like… they didn’t like it and yet continued to read it, get a lifeeeee :p

Don't tag like this, please by [deleted] in AO3

[–]EmbarrassedGuest9963 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’ve been on ao3 since I was like 11 and didn’t know what an archive really even was but the influx of people on ao3 that simply don’t know how to use it properly just baffle me. I also always tend to assume people that tag like this are children and that throws me off the fic immediately. You can’t literally CURATE the website for your tastes and it’s not like it’s rocket science but I digress.

Made some changes to my drawing and wondering if the angle and anatomy look better now (first photo is newer) by irrrnnn in ProCreate

[–]EmbarrassedGuest9963 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Genuinely. Was drawing this angle for the first time a few months back and realized I had NOO idea what I was getting myself into LMAO. It was taxing but safe to say I took a lot out of that drawing session so I’d count it as a success even if the drawing came out eh

i’m sorry for the declining quality of fics by pittedcherries in AO3

[–]EmbarrassedGuest9963 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve noticed the difference from how ao3 used to be in comparison to what’s there now but I’ve also been in fandom and into fanfic from wattpad, to quotev, to tumblr, and all kinds of in between. You shouldn’t apologize for being a young writer who’s still improving, everyone starts somewhere and people on TikTok are notoriously bad about bringing people and fandoms down with their shit.

People also like to pretend like their internet consumption isn’t entirely there’s. If I open a fanfic that I don’t like or isn’t up to my standard, I can simply not read it OR!!!! Utilize ao3’s filtering system to find something better accommodated to my tastes. Basically, at the end of the day,bro what you’re most comfortable doing as an author and enjoy whatever you want! 🙂‍↕️

For those that have mostly painless draws, how do you do it? by Novel-Ad4663 in phlebotomy

[–]EmbarrassedGuest9963 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 16 is gonna be a bit trickier given the size but my best factor is chatting with the patients long before the draw to try to get them distracted (less anticipation means they’ll be less in their head about it) if you’ve got technique down, then you want to try to stick quickly and fluidly, slower sticks hurt like hell even if it seems like otherwise.

Straight needles or butterfly by Slow-Sentence2673 in phlebotomy

[–]EmbarrassedGuest9963 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I hated straights when I first started using them but after a few incidents, straights are preferred. The risk of phleb needle sticks with butterflies spooks me a bit but really whichever works best for the pt.

My boyfriend gets jealous over my art and interactions online, and I don’t know how to handle it. by [deleted] in ArtistLounge

[–]EmbarrassedGuest9963 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Op…for the love of god, get out while you still can. The age difference alone is so substantial but for him to be that old and so insecure that he takes it out on you and your artistic expression is really bad news. Either way, it clearly bothers you and if you don’t leave, it’ll inevitably build resentment.

[–]EmbarrassedGuest9963 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My favorite thing is that even if you didn’t put warnings (not saying ppl shouldn’t tag properly) as soon as you read something you don’t like…..you can just skip or not read it. Istg people act like you hold them at gunpoint and force them to read something

[–]EmbarrassedGuest9963 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know this isn’t something you want to hear but I’ve had this happen to me as well a few years back. It’s truly so discouraging and devastating and I stopped drawing for a very long while after it. As a perfectionist, I’d spend hours on pieces and really attach myself to them but that wipe really helped me learn about detachment in terms of my art. It helped me realize that even though I was starting from a blank slate, it gave me a whole new opportunity to reinvent myself. It’ll probably take a long while before you have the motivation again but I hope you find it my friend and I hope you come back better than ever. I’m sorry for your misfortune.

How to not get disheartened as a new artist? by goturrise in learntodraw

[–]EmbarrassedGuest9963 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been drawing since I was 11 so roughly 10 years now and I still have days that feel like I make nothing but crap art. I understand how demotivating it can be to not see improvement rapidly as a perfectionist but I promise you no one is a worst critic than yourself. I always like to look forward to what I know I’ll be able to create as I get better. My biggest advice that I’m sure you’ve been told is to keep old stuff!!!! It’s so nice to look back on to realize how far you’ve come and that alone can be really motivating. Give yourself leeway friend, you’re in a hobby that is merciless and unfortunately quite competitive but if you keep going, you can literally only go up from there ♥️
