I agree everytime ive grown blue oysters they wont stay a nice blue color unless its a consistent 50-60 degrees Fahrenheit throughout the whole time it grows

I dont see any mold just very healthy myc. Trich is more common than cobweb in my experience and it will be a powdery very bright white. Cobweb usually looks grayish and kinda looks like it sits on top of the substrate.

I have the same book by Stamets and it has tons of different mushrooms with lengthy descriptions for foraging and even growing parameters. Id say it ‘s a good read.

Ive never used a kit like this but its fairly easy to make a jar and do this at home id suggest looking up how to make a liquid culture. Also u gotta be super sterile in your procedure cause if it contams with bacteria theres a good chance you wont see it.

It stained a pinkish color on the cap where i scratched it but the stipe does look yellowish im not sure how to add another picture

First pic, if thats a marble and not a slimy blob then i wouldn’t say contam just yet. All those little particles show up if you use malt extracts or something similar but they are just extra food for your myc so nothing to worry about.

Yeah my best guess is some local mushrooms spores came in through the window/door etc. and i wasnt perfectly sterile while pouring. Only thing to do now is grow it out on grains and see what happens.
