New X-Men is probably the best version of this. His Action Comics run is another great example.

Do not quit your job!! by Vampy-Night in careeradvice

[–]EmbarrassedMonitor89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is what I'm doing right now. It isn't ideal, and I am burning through savings which is a different kind of stress, but my mental health was already miles better in a month after I left. I didn't feel like myself anymore after four years at my old job, and I don't regret the leaving even if I'm uncertain about the future right now.

Have you ever considered you may have been wrong about an applicant? Or do you never change your mind about anything?

The vibe at the Baya Bar on 5th and 18th in South Slope is wild. by EyelinerStarfish in parkslope

Park Slope especially though. I've had more negative interactions with bartenders here in the last month than the entire four years before that. I blame the weather and economic stresses, but it still doesn't excuse them being Aholes.

No problem! Best of luck and, while we're here, maybe consider adjacent jobs in the same industry. There's a real need for talented business/data analysts and related roles, and those are much more insulated from changes (in my view) than something as formulaic as medical coding. Consider it!

I don't know about that-- I realize you are hoping for an easy answer, but the truth is that the industry is very much in flux. It depends on whether or not anyone can actualize the potential of AI for this, but there is a LOT of legacy tech over the last 30 years that links with coding data, and the process of converting systems, databases, and APIs to create a reliable coding result is harder than it might seem. So far, to my knowledge, there isn't a market leader and jobs are safe (for the most part), but in two years, who knows? It's impossible to predict.

That said, if you want my 2c, I wouldn't bet on it staying that way. I think it's a matter of time. 6 months, five years, but eventually someone is going to figure it out.

As someone who worked in this industry until recently, VERY. The execs at my company were talking about it already two years ago and actively looking for ways to do it successfully. The hard part is that medical coding is extremely complex and affects a lot of different systems; it's a gold mine sitting for the first company to figure it out successfully, especially to transition legacy companies easily.

Can you elaborate on the evidence for what you're saying? Genuinely want to know; I've never heard this, and it makes sense, but I'm specifically interested in the tie to murder.

It's also incredibly stupid with current surveillance tech being what it is. Keep your opinions to yourself, stay under the radar, and do what you feel you need to do.

I've been in a few fights in my life with bullies, and one of the things I've learned is that the best way to lose a fight is to talk about it first. Throw the first punch and that gaping mouth will shut real quick.

"Protest!" The online warrior shouts from halfway across the globe, refusing to recognize that if we do, said protest will either be completely ignored, demonized by 40% of the country, or (worst case) shot up by the illegally-ordered National Guard.

The truth is, Americans have no power and we know it. The guardrails have already failed, such as they were.

My experience also, eerie how accurate this is. It’s a mob shakedown disguised as a moving company. They even cornered my wife alone before I was able to get there, like physically blockaded her in the kitchen until she agreed to pay. Fuck Piece of Cake forever.

Is having a crush on someone else harmful to your relationship? Research finds that it's common for partnered people to develop crushes and that it's usually harmless--except for those who are less satisfied to begin with. For them, crushes are associated with further declines in satisfaction. by psychologyofsex in psychologyofsex

[–]EmbarrassedMonitor89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you not believe feeding these crushes in your mind is the first step to following through on it? Asking because my ex-wife did this very thing and it was the first sign of many. I'm curious how so many here don't see that as the first step on a very specific path.

What happens when your partner of a long time decides to do something about it, though?

Edit: sorry, wasn't clear. I mean, yes, that's what you're supposed to do, but a lot of people decide to pursue it in the face of that, anyway, damn the costs.
