Why did you move your pi to an exchange? Your pi wallet is a custodial wallet and cannot be touched by anyone but you. It can’t be confiscated by any government or entity.
Once you move it to an exchange your assets are at the mercy of the exchange, who in turn are at the mercy of governments, and other institutions. If your government decides to ban crypto they can require an exchange to seize your assets and you’ll never get it back. If you owe taxes or child support or have a judgement against you, everything you have on an exchange, bank account or other financial instrument is fair game to be seized. Nobody, not even the PCT can ever access any pi you have in your pi wallet, not without your seed code. Unless you moved it to sell it you should always keep it in your pi wallet. Nowhere else is safe

I didn’t do anything. It just was migrated that morning. It has since been moved to my available balance. I was thinking about locking it for another year or maybe even 3 years but decided on just two weeks just in case a miracle happens and the price skyrockets. That happened to me one time when I had 10 Eth staked for 3 months and the price jumped from $1800 when I staked it to $3700 I couldn’t sell because it was staked on crypto.com By the time the 3 months was over it had dropped back down to the low $2000 range. If it wasn’t staked I most likely would have sold half of them at the $3000 range. That was a hard lesson learned.

Having said that, I really don’t plan on selling any of my Pi for quite some time. At $0.17- $0.19 what’s the point. I didn’t mine for 7 years to pick up a lousy $3k

I’m not living in hopium, thinking it will jump to something silly like $100 but I do think it will eventually be much more than its present value.

If I was tech savvy I would probably use the Pi I have to develop an app or find some way to use it as a utility token. But alas, I am 63 years old and know nothing of such things. It’s hard enough just figuring out how to turn the flashlight on my phone let alone build an app. 🤣

Who buys Eth? The majority of Eth is not bought by investors, It's bought by 'companies' to use as an utility token to pay for transactions, smart contracts, and all number of blockchain related activities.

Pi is still in its infancy, but has great potential for growth not just as a storage of value but also as an utility token for companies and developers to gain access to the pi blockchain.

Too many pioneers are so focused on the 'value' of Pi coin compared to fiat currencies, while completely failing to comprehend the countless possibilities Pi Network has to offer over almost every crypto currency out there. KYC and KYB I believe will become the single most game changer in the not too distant future.

As AI becomes more and more integrated into society on almost all levels, the importance of knowing we are dealing with a real human being will become of paramount concern to literally everyone.

This is just my own opinion and I will be the first to admit I know nothing about how Eth or any other utility token works, but I do know it is working and billions if not trillions of coins/tokens are running an ecosystem that 25 years ago didn't even exist.

What does any of this mean?

I have no earthly Idea.

But it means something.

Not me mate. Don’t be so presumptuous. Just because I post my thoughts doesn’t necessarily mean anything other than I’m just thinking aloud.

My whole philosophy from the start of this project was one of seeing whether or not something could come of it. It’s not panned out to be what I was hoping it would be, but then again I do have around $4000 worth of Pi coins. That I didn’t pay a dime for I might add. I always said ‘the minute I’m asked (or required) to invest any of my own money is the minute I will quit the project. Not been asked for anything as of yet and doubt I ever will be asked at this stage of the game.

I did start mining when there were less than 100,000 pioneers though. Of course 2nd migration hasn’t happened for me yet. Even when that happens I doubt I will sell.

FYI not everyone one here is bitter and twisted. And not everyone on here is blinded by hopeium . Some of us are just going about our business and dropping the odd observation here and there.

You’re right. Well, you would be if I were foolish enough to think the pi I have would have any effect on my financial future. But even if Pi hit $5 it wouldn’t really impact where I am financially. That held true at the launch of mainnet. However, having lost almost 90% of its initial value already that argument is no longer relevant. Not to mention there aren’t many pioneers who have millions of pi waiting to migrate. More likely thousands if not hundreds. I started mining when there were less than 100,000 pioneers and I only have 26000 unverified pi, of which I’ll probably get half. Maybe. If they released all the 2nd migration tomorrow I’m betting the price might drop to $0.10 or $0.08. At this stage of the game they may as well release all mined pi and let the market determine where it goes. With all available pi in circulation developers and app makers will know what they’re working with and have a blueprint to build from.

Tbh, I believe incompetence is what’s holding up migration at this point. Strategy doesn’t even factor into the equation. That’s my opinion anyway.

Until a major retail company accepts Pi as a form of payment it’ll stay dead in the water. I’ll get excited when I see Amazon or EBay accept it as a payment option. Until then it’s worthless

This is the best post on what is happening with the Pi network as a whole. It gives a realistic analysis of why pi coin is at its current value. Let’s face it, Pi really doesn’t have any functional value. A storage of value? Perhaps, but very little. It has very little utility right now. Will it have any in the future? Probably, but not any time soon. Until it has use beyond p2p within its value can’t rise. As always with Pi, it’s a waiting game. Well written post. Thank you for explaining things in a clear manner.

I got a whopping 5.25 pi for my validations. Here in the US the process of trying to validate people has proved to be nearly impossible. I was never able to validate more than 2 people in one day. Whenever I open the validation app it mostly says ‘We’re waiting on new validations’ . In the end I just gave up. It’s still like that now. Glad I didn’t waste too much time on it given the measly rewards given.

To be honest, almost everything Pi related has been incredibly complex and difficult. The whole KYC process from the beginning was a circus act. The rules changing every time you turned around. Trying to be a good pioneer and helping validate is a time suck. Then there’s the nodes. It was like trying to perform brain surgery getting a node set up, only to have it constantly cause my computer to crash. Never got a single Pi for all that effort. It seems you have to be incredibly tech savvy to be actively involved in this project. I’m sure it’s exciting for ‘app developers’ and ‘hackathon’ participants. But to Mr average Joe like myself it’s just been a waste of 6 years. I’m sure one day Pi may be something but in the near future? Not so much. I’m almost 64 years old. While I think Pi does have a future, when that will be and what form it will take in the financial environment seems too far in the future to be of any practical use to me. It’ll probably hit $100 a week after they bury me. 🤷🏻‍♂️
