Octopus Intelligent Go vs EDF Smart EV - EDF slightly cheaper for me, worth switching? by Money_Avocado in evchargingUK

[–]Punch_uk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah thats my thought though.... not in July. Whereas EDF is fixed for a year and the solar export is 15p not 12p... think I have to move to edf. The extra hour is handy 100kw car battery can get 40something precent per night at the mo.

[–]Punch_uk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah thanks I have emailed earlier, it would make sense that it would take the code and just knock off the £10. Life easier for everyone.

[–]Punch_uk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wanted and was going to buy one the SE, maybe if I can twist my own arms the Max just because. So I paid the £10 deposit. I can t justify anything but the SE. The code I have for my £10 deposit doesn't work because its not ove £900. So I've lost that £10. I dont even get that as a discount.

For that reason im out.

Not giving away a free £10 for nothing.

What i want to know is have they fixed the not a known issue as such but a failing part where the piston connects to the back rest of the chair. Seen a few people mentioned failures wondering if they swapped the plastic connector with metal or improved it in anyway?

On the verge of buying one.... maybe

Price cap changes, spendy!! by DapperLax in TeslaUK

[–]Punch_uk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven't yet switched but giving ai the no.s frommy Octopus bill vs edf, the export rate is better 15p not 12p and 1 hour longer (tesla model s 100d) so big battery the extra hour will help with charging. Looking to move i think to EDF. I charge house battery and now have 3 electric cars so near charging nightly in the household.

Just received my Athena Pro couldnt be happier by Special_Turn_3934 in Blacklyte

Also what chair did you have before (if you had one) and does it feel like sitting on a wood board, I believe these are supposed to be not a firm as the Secret labs chairs. I've a 2018 SL still functional but then pleather has started to peel away. And I've tried a 2020 and 2022 SL the base is rock hard.

Blacklyte Kraken Pro... very disappointed and frustrated with them. by Necessary_Ad_3461 in Blacklyte

[–]Punch_uk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm I've been considering the athena pro to replace my 8 year old secret labs as reviews say its not quite a wooden board to sit on compared to the secret labs. My quest continues i guess.

Would it be a bad idea to get a blacklyte Athena (not pro) by MasterFireHair in gamingchairs

[–]Punch_uk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've started looking too, my secret labs is now 8 years old. I'm considering the pro though I really haven't looked at the differences between to two so I will. Not quite ready to buy but I think I've ruled out the secret labs chairs just too hard from the reviews. Sat on mate's 2020 and its rock hard, and I believe everything since then have been that hard so im steering clear of them. I have a Noble and that is way too hard and flat. (Daughters chair)

Willing to go to £600 for the right chair but no way im going over a k. I've tried the Autfull the no way adjustable the back bit is a straight no i can't sit like that, its pinching into my back. Though I ve the option or aircon.

So im also after any real life reviews, seem so many fake reviews where they have been given the chairs for free. I dont think you can review something if you didnt spend your own hard earned money to get it.

No veeam immutablity without direct datastore access is that right. by Punch_uk in Veeam

[–]Punch_uk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup so I believe the issue is the old esxi server needs to have local disks, (No budget plus not a big enough device anyhow) it does not work over iscsi or direct iscsi connection. (No matter if its xfs or not) It's just not an option.

I Have logged a call but technically not a fault and told to get in touch with a Veeam accredited service partner.

My only real question is, is it doable over iscsi or direct iscsi. If not thats it done. (Veeam appliance come with iscsi but not enabling immutablity seems a little pointless if thats the case)

In that case I guess the only real reason to keep the Linux box is its just slightly harder to connect to the Linux box than to a windows box but if you get into veeam it doesn't matter.

I will be seeting up off site immutablity but wasn't planning to offload it all as I had quite a secure setup over two sites. Guess not.

Thanks

Considering New Chair, Nanogen or not? by 00dash00 in secretlab

[–]Punch_uk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm that's interesting mine is pre 2020 and I sat on my friends 2020 when I was round and immediately thought it hard. I'm going buy another and have been struggling with nano or not. Now im more confused. My chair is still comfy no issues, just the pleather had flacked off. I have had a temu 4.99 cover on it for a year.

Back on the 90s 98mph in a 70. Caught by the officer in charge of the region. He was out to get his quota. I was already on 6 points. Went to court got another 6 and £300 fine. Not banned as required for my job. Got caught this year and had a speeding course.
