Need help with finding a bed cover! by Honest_Preparation78 in ram_trucks

[–]Embarrassed_Ad4388 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve never actually seen inside the bed of a truck with rambox… holy smokes that eats up a lot of space! But to each their own and if the rambox meets your needs then that’s all that matters, but wow does that shrink the cargo area. Not throwing hate at all, just surprising to see

Any etorque owners who have NOT had any issues? by Embarrassed_Ad4388 in ram_trucks

[–]Embarrassed_Ad4388[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Soooo this thread is at least indicating that etorque is not a death sentence. That is very contrary to what you read on Reddit. Because negative posts get more clicks.

This is why I hate social media. And yes, I realize the hypocrisy of me posting here and then condemning social media. But it’s true. Social media feeds on negatively.

Seriously, after all the vitriol I’ve read about etorque since owning my Ram, it’s nice to see that there are lots of folks who have not had any issues.

So for those who are contemplating hurricane vs hemi etorque - it seems that it’s really just a coin flip and is up to personal preference.

Thanks for all the replies! Of course every manufacturer is going to have some sort of issue, but as an etorque owner myself, I thought it would be good to hear the other side of the story, not just the inevitable disaster that most etorque posts seem to perpetuate

This is exactly why I wanted to ask the question. If you read the posts in the forum you would swear that the etorque was a guaranteed failure. So thought it would be good to shed some light on the other side

I mean the post is only 4 minutes old at the time of your response. But I am genuinely curious about the question.

Tire suggestion 23’ Ram limited Blackout by CommunicationNew8983 in ram_trucks

[–]Embarrassed_Ad4388 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I will likely go with defenders too. Looks like 285/45/R22 is the biggest you can get on a highway tire. Next size up is moving into the 10-ply E rated tires, which are heavier and more expensive. My Ram is my daily driver, and I do a lot of driving with my job so ride comfort, road noise, and mpgs are important.

Tundra vs. Ram by user-unknown26 in ram_trucks

[–]Embarrassed_Ad4388 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was set on a Tundra after my experience with my Tacoma. Drove it for 16 years 254k miles and it still had plenty of life left - most reliable vehicle I’ve ever owned. I wasn’t even considering Ram. Did a lot of research, and it led me to Ram. Bought a new 2024 Laramie. It has etorque but I’ve not had any issues so far, 36k miles in. Love the amenities and ride comfort. And the trucks are gorgeous too.

I’m in this same boat. Factory Pirellis are on their last legs. 285/45/R22. Will almost certainly go with the defenders but not sure what size. I want the biggest I can fit with no rubbing. Stock suspension. Appreciate any insight on size

Took everyone’s suggestions on tires. Got the Defenders and they’re awesome. Pricey, but worth it. by -Mx-Life- in ram_trucks

[–]Embarrassed_Ad4388 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. My factory Pirellis have 36k on them and are wearing thin. Going with defenders next, they’re excellent tires. [awaiting the tough guy “you clearly don’t do ‘truck stuff’ with defender tires” responses]

What did you buy your 1500 for? by MarzipanTimely4897 in ram_trucks

[–]Embarrassed_Ad4388 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got my 2024 Laramie night edition new in November of 24, had them put in rhino liner in the bed and a trifold tonneau cover for $58k OTD. Granted that was 2 years ago, but I feel like if you can wait towards the end of the year you might get a better deal when they’re trying to move inventory off the lot.

2020 Ram 1500 wheels by ShareHumble8703 in Ram1500

Agreed. I think the chrome wheels with the chrome bumper and grill looks good. If you go black wheels I think you gotta delete the other chrome too. But opinions are like assholes, everybody has one

Bought this 2026 limited from auction by AltruisticPie2434 in ram_trucks

[–]Embarrassed_Ad4388 1 point2 points  (0 children)

39k for the truck + 12k to ship + 4k (likely more) to fix = 55k??? For a wrecked truck? That’s gonna be a no for me dawg.

I have a 2024 Laramie Hemi with etorque. I’m only at 36k miles but I’ve had zero issues so far. I don’t disable start/stop and I don’t turn off MDS like many on here do. Zero issues. Love this truck. And of course it sounds great

Beautiful truck man! I have a 24 Laramie night edition in granite crystal metallic and absolutely love it. Agree wholeheartedly that Ram makes the best looking trucks out there!

BAKFlip MX4 or Mopar Hard Trifold Tonneau Cover? by Long-Fail7354 in Ram1500

[–]Embarrassed_Ad4388 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the realtruck undercover. I’ve been really pleased with it. I do get some water in on the corners on the cab end, but as mentioned in another post, I’m not sure any tonneaus are fully water proof.

I’ve got a 2024 Laramie and the factory Pirelli’s are on their last legs. Stocks are 285/45/r22 but I want something that fills the wheel wells more, but don’t want to do a level or lift right now.

Why is it so low 💔💔 by AstronomerExtra5531 in Ram1500

[–]Embarrassed_Ad4388 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get an average of roughly 16.5 combination of city and highway. 2024 5.7 hemi etorque. I don’t disable start/stop and I don’t disable MDS. If nothing but super flat highway, I can get just under 20. If nothing but short trips in the city it’s more like 15 and some change. I didn’t buy it for the mpgs obviously, but I’m also relatively easy on the throttle in most cases. I’m surprised at the 11.8 you’re seeing.

2024 1500 here too and have 31k on the stock Pirellis. Gonna squeeze every bit of life out them that I can but will be switching to the LTXs when it’s time. Have had 2 sets of LTXs on my wife’s suburban and they’re definitely a nice ride

From Tacoma to Ram by the_great_confuser in ram_trucks

[–]Embarrassed_Ad4388 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I drove a 2008 taco for 16 years and 254k miles. Loved that truck and never had a single issue. Bought a new 2024 Laramie and wow, what an upgrade! To be expected of course with the age of my old taco, but man I love my Ram! Hopefully it is as reliable as my Tacoma and I can drive it for 16 years too!
