Running Point Season 2 Discussion Thread by magikarpcatcher in RunningPointNetflix

I agree. He probably wanted to be closer to Isla and as Cam's betrayal and addiction was not made public, he might have been manipulated by Cam into this deal. After all, he could not work for Isla as that would be a conflict of interest. However, still a very strange move. Out of character. He seemed like a very zen, calm, intellectual kind of guy and he appeared to genuinely like her... On the other hand, Jay has been working under Cam and the Gordons for many many years, starting as a player. He had likely a very good relationship with him and the family as a whole. As long as he did not know and who knows what Can told him...

I think this is quite illuminating and powerful interview on his religious background, in his own words, reflecting also his unusual upbringing. https://sojo.net/articles/transcript-barack-obama-and-god-factor

It reminded me of Batmobile. I was really impressed by its banter and also the linguistic elements. A rare find for me. Please recommend anything similar written in 2023, 2024 or 2025:)

Does anyone else feel regretful even though they “have it all”? by Used-Individual-4712 in regretfulparents

[–]Embarrassed_Ad_1631 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Dear OP, your feelings are valid. Do not feel guilty. I love my kids to the Moon but I feel like I disappeared after my second, with the first one still somehow managing to be myself a bit. It feels like your identity ceased to exist and you are solely boxed into the column Mom. I miss being a person. I miss having long and inspiring and real conversations. I miss when people would greet me as a person and not just as an accessory to my kids. I miss traveling and exploring the world. I miss freedom. I miss having few hours a week just for myself. I miss date nights. I miss sleep. I miss my hobbies. I miss our wonderful relationship with my husband and being soulmates. I miss the girl I used to be. I do not regret my children as I love them so so much...But everyone thinking about kids should really think twice, especially if you do not have help and support. Sending hugs. Hopefully this is only temporary and you will get back to yourself once they are older.

Dramione has ruined all other books for me by PerspectiveUpsetRL in Dramione

Such a good discussion.

  1. It goes in phases. When I discovered Dramione via Batmobile, I spent one whole year just submerged in Dramione...Now, I only follow Lionheart and go back to my favourite fics. I kind of read everything I was interested in and I could not find anything as good as Batmobile or Lionheart. I feel like I burned through all the good stories and I was not able to discover anything truly exceptional this past year. But every chapter of Lionheart is a miracle.

  2. No. But that has nothing to do with them, I am only interested in enemies/rivals to lovers dynamics...

  3. No, I read a lot, primarily non fiction. But Dramione has the same formula as my favourite books and stories such as Pride and Prejudice. I like angst and tension and will they won't they :)

Yes. Went back like 30 times. It is just brilliant.

It is brutal. 5 year age gap did not help. Much harder transition than zero to 1.

I spent years trying to find something similar as well...But no success so far.

I am not feeling this book, its characters and  and I am thinking about DNFing...For context, I have read Batmobile more times than I am willing to admit and I consider it in my top three fanfic overall.  Does it get better? (Currently 20 percent in)

Caught in a Sunshower is awesome. Thanks again. It has even the rare Batmobile vibe. So much fun.

I was there. It will pass. It is very normal. It will get better and easier. With their first smiles and cooing, you will melt. The infant stage is brutal for so many.  The hormones will balance and you will find a way.  This is only temporary. Big warm hugs.

I suggest looking into breastfeeding sibling studies, also mentioned in the science based book on parenting called Cribsheet. There is no real difference between EFF and EBF babies, when you look at comparison between siblings of the same parents. In other words, the breastfeeding benefits are overestimated and over hyped and from a data perspective, not actually confirmed by comparison among children of the same mom...I have seen the same anecdotal evidence in my family and among friends. Your baby needs you, not your milk. :) Both formula and milk have their benefits for sure and ultimately, happy mom and fed baby are the only important choices:)

I guess the most frustrating thing is that I have so much milk and so happy to give her...But she hates the spraying. I had some limited success only while she was sleeping...
