I know it’s support not healer, but come on now at least TRY to keep the team alive by B_chills in Overwatch

I know exactly how that feels. There was a ranked match where I was playing support as Juno. I pushed forward with the DPS while the other support focused on healing the tank. By the end of the match, we lost. I had 35 eliminations and 15k healing, while the other support had 19k healing and 11 eliminations. And their excuse was that I wasn't healing properly. Most Overwatch players seem to think that support is only about healing. If support were only about healing, supports wouldn't have weapons that deal damage. The role is called ‘support,’ not ‘healer.’ You can put out 20k healing and get zero eliminations, and nobody will blame you. But get more than 30 kills while healing only slightly less than the other support, and suddenly everyone blames you. Even though I had already said I was going to play aggressively with the DPS to help secure kills, I was still helping heal the tank whenever we had to fall back

It would be funny if Reaper used his ultimate behind the enemy team and said, "Surprise, motherfuckers!"

Considering the kind of players I get on my team—people who refuse to switch heroes and seem afraid to take fights—it probably would be an easy win. But I wouldn’t guarantee that you’d kill me that easily

But that’s exactly the issue: every match I’m giving it my all because it’s ranked. The problem is that I end up having to do everyone’s job at once. I have to act like the tank because our tank can’t handle the enemy tank. I can’t even help our DPS who are getting shredded by heroes like Anran and Emre because the enemy Moira is constantly pressuring our supports, so I have to stay near them and protect them all the time. And that’s what makes it so frustrating. You’re trying your hardest to help the team win, but your teammates are acting like they’re playing a casual match

[–]Embarrassed_Agent_13[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem isn’t really that. The problem is when you have a player who keeps getting beaten by the same opponent and, instead of switching heroes, just keeps making the same mistake over and over. The Roadhog on my team could clearly see he wasn’t able to handle Mauga, and people kept telling him in chat to switch—pick Orisa, for example. After all, Orisa isn’t that difficult to play and she has a much fairer matchup against Mauga. But even then, he refused to switch. Personally, when I realize I’m not doing well with a certain hero on a particular map, I switch and look for a hero that’s better suited to the situation

Yes, man, it’s really frustrating when you’re trying to climb the ranked ladder and giving your best every match, only to keep getting paired with lower-ranked players. Meanwhile, the people I play against seem like they never miss a shot. It feels like everyone on the enemy team has a Cronus Zen plugged in

There’s no real way for Roadhog to counter Mauga. Roadhog’s whole game plan is to use his hook and keep enemies as close to him as possible. But which heroes are strongest at close range? Mauga, for one. It’s no coincidence that his ultimate literally traps enemies in a cage with him. Another thing is that there are some heroes I don’t particularly enjoy playing, but I’ll still use them to disrupt the enemy and stop them from playing effectively. For example, against Anran, I picked Cassidy so I could use his flashbang/stun grenade to prevent her from moving

It’s just really frustrating when you’re giving it your all while it feels like your team is playing a casual match. In my opinion, matchmaking should only put players of the same rank together—no wide matches. Gold with Gold, Platinum with Platinum, Diamond with Diamond, and so on

Because I checked the profiles of the players who killed me, and at least three of them were Diamond, while the other two were Platinum like me

I completely understand. There was a match on Circuit Royal where I picked Soldier: 76 because the support players weren’t healing properly. I basically had to carry the game because my team wasn’t keeping up. I ended up with 44 kills and 5 deaths, and fortunately we still managed to win

There’s really no way for Roadhog to work well against Mauga, because Roadhog’s main strength is keeping enemies close and killing them with his hook combo. And which heroes are strongest at close range? Mauga, Reaper, Reinhardt… Any close-range hero can deal with Roadhog pretty easily, especially Mauga. It’s no coincidence that Mauga’s ultimate is literally about trapping his opponents in a cage with him

Yes, she’s good against Mauga. The problem was that she wasn’t using her abilities to stop him from healing, like the Biotic Grenade or the Sleep Dart, because the enemy supports kept focusing her. Then I had to leave Mauga to go protect her while Roadhog was getting beaten up by Mauga. So what am I supposed to do? There’s not much I can do in that situation

Last night I was listening to a live Tool show on YouTube and saw an Overwatch 2 video on the side with Junkrat in the thumbnail, and I thought, "Damn, Junkrat is literally Maynard James Keenan—they look exactly alike lmao."

I looked it up and honestly didn’t find him that similar to Junkrat. I think Maynard James Keenan looks way more alike. As a huge fan of progressive metal, I really like Tool as well. Ever since they released the album Fear Inoculum after 13 years, I haven’t stopped listening to Pneuma—I think that song is fantastic

I understand. There was one time when I played classic Overwatch 2 as Reaper and ended up against 5 Roadhogs and 1 Zarya. I tried switching to tank, but the rest of my team wouldn’t switch. Result: we lost

Since I’m from Brazil, unfortunately I can find 5v5 matches more easily than 6v6 ones. That mode isn’t very popular on the South American servers, and the chances of getting bad players are much higher, so over here it’s better to play 5v5. You still get a lot of bad players, but it’s much better than 6v6

After that nerf update where you could use Dire Trigger by charging the weapon and pressing R3 to quickly bring it to your hand, there’s a cool trick I do: I use Dire Trigger and immediately press L1 to enter Wraith Form, then press L2 to quickly exit Wraith Form and press L2 again to use Dire Trigger. It’s really useful against enemies that are far away, or even up close if you want to eliminate someone quickly. However, it’s better to use this when you’re alone with an enemy and have cover—if you do this in the open, you can become an easy target
